Greetings all...sleeved on 7/15. I stalled for a week and a half and just came out of it. I've read other posts about stalls and how upset it makes you. I thought people just needed to grow a set and nut up. I can honestly say that the stall has humbled me. Talk about depression! I really didn't think I was going to make it. Now I'm out of the stall and down 20lbs since surgery. pretty sure I've lost it all in my boobs. My doctor let me go to mushy foods at week 2. They aren't kidding when they say eat slowly! I get the most intense pain in my back if I don't follow that rule and wind up twisting into all sorts of unnatural positions to try and stop the stabbing feeling. Good news...the husband is considering the surgery now! Anyone else a two surgery household?

Vape saved me. I gradually brought the nicotine level down to nothing.

Okay...day 2 post op. I have to say, this is not bad. There are moments of pain but pain meds are my friend these days. Walking makes a huge difference. It really hurts at first but concentrate on standing up straight and walking and you'll get through it. Sip slowly...you'll regret it if you don't.

I had my surgery a few days ago. No staples, he used glue. Do you think I'll have the same problem?

I just had robotic surgery on the 15th. My surgeon gave me the option. The incisions are smaller with the robot. No problems at all.

Had my surgery yesterday. So far so good. Absolutely no nausea! Weird of advise...gas strips will save your life. When the pressure starts to build, pop one on your tongue and wait for the burp :-)

Greetings from my hospital room! I am happy to announce that I'm sleeve, rested, and ice chips are my new best friend;). This forum has been a treasure chest of information! The pain when I first woke up was difficult, and by difficult I mean WOW...But the pain meds are marvelous! Walk the first chance you get; pee as soon as you can. Burp, burp, burp!

Leaving for the hospital in about 2 hours. Nervous....very nervous. I've been up all night second guessing this decision. Wish I could sleep. That would help this night go by so much faster!

I have the same doctor and am having surgery at Baylor on the 15th. I'm nervous but happy to have it done!

I also have this. They found it last week during my endoscopy. My doctor makes everyone have one prior to the surgery so they can fix it while inside. My surgery is on Friday and I'm having both procedures done. They said it will take about 3 hrs. I'll know about the pain Friday....not looking forward to it (the pain).

I have become an angry person. I stopped smoking and am on a voluntary liquid diet, since my doctor didn't require one. My skin is crawling and as I sit here at work, typing this, I want to throw my hard drive through the window. Now, to the good stuff...I have wanted this surgery for years but finally got up the nerve to do it. Unfortunately, I'm plagued by guilt. Five years ago I weighed 150, down from 190. I did it through workouts and limiting my calories. I was so proud of myself! Now I weigh 240 and no longer have the energy to do what I did previously. I'm tired all the time. I hate the clothes I have to wear....let's face it, fat clothes aren't as cute as skinny ones. I walk around with a smile on my face (that's part of my job) and it's nothing but a mask. That's not to say that I'm not a happy person...I love to play and joke around...but there is always the little voice in the back of my head saying, "You look horrible and everyone knows it." I'm nervous and guilt ridden about the procedure. So much so that very few people know. Thank heavens I also have a hiatal hernia so I can tell everyone at work I'm going in to fix that and it won't be a lie. I'm not, however, questioning whether or not I should have the procedure. I know that I have to have it. I know that I can't exercise effectively on my arthritic knees anymore with this amount of weight. I can barely walk. This is going to be an emotionally charged week for me. I'm glad I found this board. Learning from their experiences has help a ton with the nerves.

I also live in McKinney!!! Small world. I'm 5 days out and getting nervous...er.

I think I'm alone here but I love anesthesia. Don't get me wrong, I'm still nervous. I hate needles so an iv is what I'm dreading the most. I loathe being tethered to an iv stuck in the top of my hand. I always have. Seriously, I would rather have an epidural than an iv but you can't have one without the other. But, as soon as I see the nurse inject my iv with something I know that sweet sleep is soon to follow and I smile every time.
