  5. Have lost about 30 pounds since surgery and I will be 8 weeks Wednesday. That means i can go on a regular diet but i will still be taking it extremely slow. i have started writing down everything i eat and calories are around 800 or sometimes closer to 900 but never over that, i just felt like i wasnt getting in enough calories at first, and my fat stays at or below 30 grams and my protein for a day can range from 60 to 80. i still dont drink two liters of water a day but i am working on it. Also i was working out but I am in nursing school and i swear i barely have time to even breathe but i am trying to see how i will work some exercise in. Other than that i will say i think i am doing great. There are mostly good days and of course a few that could be better and i am finally starting to get some compliments from people FINALLY after 111 pounds lost people notice! I find that crazy but nobody ever said anything to me about my weight until now. I do not regret the surgery one bit and im glad cause they opened up a krispy kreme not too far from me and honey i would have been all up in there lol, now i cant and im so grateful.

  7. Hello! I don't think that's a good idea, your stomach is very sensitive, and you don't want to damage anything even if you feel fine. Plus the slower you go the more time you have to feel full. Sent from my HTC Desire Eye using the BariatricPal App

  10. Thank you everyone, yes I will keep you updated. My body is in constant overdrive and I have been on bp meds for years. I am hoping to get off of them but I guess not until I get my thyroid levels stabilized. I used to wake up with extreme night sweats but it has been better, but I'm always hot. I'm concerned about going hypo if I get on meds or gaining weight back and they have run all kinds on tests on me. They did a mri to check my pituitary gland, checked me for nodules, checked me for graves (though graves unfortunately does run in my family) and so far it's all been negative. Don't know what's causing the extra low tsh.

  13. @@SueAE did they ever find out what was wrong with you? I'm in the same boat. Have had low tsh levels and hyper symptoms and been seeing an endo for about three years but wasn't put on meds because t3 and t4 are fine. Since my gastric sleeve my tsh is super low, even lower than it was before surgery (I had it under control actually before surgery for awhile) so I'm very concerned. I'm sooo exhausted and have bad heart palps and even with the surgery I feel I'm hungrier than I should be. I still don't eat over 800-900 calories though. Very concerned, I hate feeling like this. See endo next week.
  14. Eggs, soups, (chicken noodle, chicken and rice, vegetable soup but only certain ones that don't have corn) chilli, fish, light deli meat, cheese sticks, sometimes grits or oatmeal, applesauce, soft no sugar added can fruits, soft vegetables but no broccoli or cauliflower yet, the list goes on, there is plenty to eat! However I never get to finish most of the time and have to end up throwing food away or giving it away or it will sit up forever and spoil.

  16. I did before I had the surgery, even though I had lost 80 something pounds before my surgery which was almost a month ago. I've lost 20 pounds post op in three weeks and 2 days which makes an over a hundred pound weight loss and NOW after surgery my brain is able to see my losses very well but I think that's due to the weight dropping quickly.
  17. @@ChattyMommy30 yes I did! Right at two week mark too. It only lasted for some days because I'm coming up on three weeks in a day or so and it has disappeared except for those darn protein shakes. They make me nauseous no matter what. Just give it a week, hopefully it Will pass.
  18. Hitting the beginning of week 3/ending week 2. I am on pureed now and it felt like heaven to have some real Food no matter how disgusting it looks. I had had it with cream soups and protein shakes, it just made me nauseous. I really struggle to get in that one protein shake and I try to get the rest of my protein in with food. I'm eating maybe 1/4 cup sometimes to 1/2 cup sometimes at a time. I eat slowly, but I definitely feel like I feel hungry at times. Maybe it's head hunger. I eat three times a day but I read in the beginning you should eat four to six meals a day because you're only getting in 1/4 to 1/2 a cup each time but I'm not there yet . I'm probably going to hit the three week stall soon so I'm not even going to get on the scale, it's no big deal to me. I know I'm losing by my clothes. They are hanging off of me. Last I weighed I was 248 about a fifteen pound loss from surgery date. Getting in 60+ protein most days and close to 50 ounces of water. I didn't get any rest after surgery. I'm a single mother and I had no help so immediately I was cleaning and cooking. I wish I could have rested but I must say I think it sped up my recovery and kept me active because my energy is pretty good now and I rarely have dizzy spells except sometimes at night which could be low sugar, low pressure, or hot bouts. Immediately after surgery I was hit with hot flashes and bad night sweats so I keep water and g2 by my bed at night. It's hard but no regrets!

  20. Thank you! I am day 4 post op and the pain is somewhat better. I definitely have not made water or protein goals but I'm trying. Got to 40 something protein yesterday and about 20 or so ounces of water type fluids. I noticed when I get up in the mornings my pain is worse and I noticed at night I get pretty bad pains. It feels like I stuffed myself and drank too much but I only get it at night and I know I can't stretch my sleeve because I don't exceed 3 or four ounces every hour. I definitely can't wait to feel human again. I feel so restricted! Yesterday was my daughters birthday and they had cupcakes and ice cream and I was fine but then my mom brought in my favorite food of all time :pizza. She served them huge slices then sat right beside me smacking on the pizza. I was like really? And I went back to my room. I wasn't hungry but I love pizza y'all. Once I went back to my room, I was ok but people really don't think before they do things sometimes. I told her pizza was my weakness many times so she did know! Other than that I'm good. I start back to school in a few weeks so I gotta get back to normal soon.
  21. Thank you so much @@Clarevoyant
  22. I had my surgery Wednesday on the 27th and I was in excruciating pain. That's just the truth I can't lie. However today the pain is better, nausea is at a minimal and I got in 30 grams of protein today which seemed to give me some energy and another 16 oz will give me a liter of water. Still bloated and swollen however I got on the scale anyway and I'm down six pounds in two days! I am currently around four oz of liquid an hour and I'm on full and clear liquids though I haven't tried Like pudding or soup or anything like that yet. Just trying to get in my protein and water first but it was easier today so hopefully the rest of this week will be get easier and by next Wednesday I'll be telling you all I basically feel normal. Lol. One can only hope.
  23. Hello everyone, so I had to have been soo out of it cause I don't even remember really posting my hospital experience but I see I did. Anyway was sleeved Wednesday and my hospital stay never did get any better. I was told to walk 20 laps and I did so afterwards I was hurting and where is my nurse with my pain medicine? Does anybody know cause I sure as heck don't. Horrible horrible nurses and hospital experience. I truly believe if I would have had proper pain management in the hospital my recovery would have overall been better. But anyway they discharged me Thursday and I stayed with my mom that night. I was in excruciating pain that night and I slept in a sit up position. They gave me hydrocodone which I must say did nothing for my pain which felt kind of like labor pain for me. It was just that bad, it felt like cramping and I had gotten stiff. The next morning which was this morning I felt a tad better. I'm determined to get in a liter of water. I'm down 16 oz of water and did 30 grams of protein. Minimal nausea and still been walking here and there and up doing things for the kids so I guess I'm doing better. Pain still bad but not excruciating like it was yesterday. Yesterday I was forcing four oz down every hour because I thought I had to, but don't force it y'all you will end up in excruciating pain.today I am able to do four ounces without forcing. And even though they tell you dont get on the scale after surgery because you are swollen, I did and I'm down six pounds since Wednesday. I couldn't believe it. Even with my swollen stomach, I'm down six pounds so I'm expecting this weight to fall off this first month kind of quickly. It better after all of this! Experienced more gerd and throat burning last night but still taking the prescription for that so hopefully that will get better. Any regrets? No I worked too hard for this, I just want to feel better and have a speedy recovery. Sometimes I feel like I want to eat out of habit or feel like I may be hungry but I know it's my imagination because food smells overly strong right now almost to the point of making my stomach hurt. So not actually hungry and I keep telling myself yes I can do this. I didn't have much support on my journey but the good Lord really so for those who aren't married or don't have much support, you too can make it through.
  24. Thank you! I feel better today and they are going to discharge me today. Congrats to you on your surgery as well
  25. Had my sleeve surgery this morning and wasn't nervous at all surprisingly. Expect a bit of discomfort right after surgery, but I feel better already. I am experiencing gerd for the first time and it's causing my throat to burn. Quite a bit of nausea and a sensation that I need to burp but can't. They won't let me do cough drops or gas x strips. The nurses have been downright terrible. Nobody gave me any pain meds until three hours after surgery and nurses are horrible. I can have ice chips and I Had to wait over an hour for those. Called nurse and waited 35 minutes to try and pee and ended up having to disconnect my wires myself and had to bend to reconnect everything myself. I'm giving this hospital a horrible survey review
