I'm sorry to be asking so many questions! But I'm 2 days post op and I am so tired and wore out it seems like. Today I've been really dizzy and Light headed. Started getting a lil tingling in my hands....am I just freaking out or is this normal?? Seriously kinda scared and with my doctor being 3 hours away that makes me even more nervous

@@TamaraRae How are you doing getting all your fluids in? It could be dehydration. I would call your Dr and see what they say. In the meantime, make sure you're drinking enough. Get some G2 or something with electrolytes. Hope you feel better!

I defaulted to pedialyte when I was having an issue with illness and liquids.< /p>

It made me feel better. I added Water to it and seemed to take away the dizziness. Best to check with your dr though. They may want to know and may have other advice.

Good luck

I complained to my doctor about feeling a little lightheaded one week post op. She said it is almost definitely dehydration....and I have been getting in my minimum Water requirements of 64 oz. She suggested bumping up by at least another 8-16 oz per day.

The other possibility is if you are on BP meds they may need to be adjusted.

Sip a little Fluid at a time and do that more often, your tummy is too small to chug now. As other suggest, electrolyte balance is also important - basically sodium and potassium levels. Then after that, you want to look at Vitamins and eating *some* calories in terms of general feeling of well being.

I second the diluted pedialyte suggestion. I drank gallons of it the first several months postop. Your body needs those electrolytes as well as Water. Have a bottle with you 24/7. Start sipping the second you wake up and every 15 minutes until the moment you fall asleep.

Warm stuff went down easier for me, so you may try Decaf herbal teas and different broths. Whatever it takes to get more fluids in. Dehydration sucks. I needed IV fluids 3 times when I was 2-3 months postop. I had severe diarrhea and even with drinking 64oz I couldn't keep up with the Fluid loss.

I was having the lightheadedness post op and I found 2 oz of Juicy juice (no sugar added, it's recommended by my NUT) diluted with 2 oz of water...the sugar really helped with dizzy and light headed.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
