I was just wondering how long the typical hospital stays was or will be?

That's very case-dependent. Some surgeons do outpatient procedures. Every handout I was given by my surgeon said his typical sleeve patient will stay 2 nights in the hospital- they let me go after 1 because I was walking a lot, could keep down my Protein drink, and wasn't hitting the pain button too often.

The general trend seems to be 1-2 nights if no complications arise.

My insurance (BCBS Federal) pre-approved five days but I only stayed two. Went in on a Monday morning and came home Wednesday evening.

Hi! I have Kaiser Northern California, and their policy is 1 night. I had sleeve surgery on 4/26 in Fresno.

Had surgery May 24 came home May 26 i didn't want to come home. lol

2 nights - surgery the 26th, came home the 28th. The first night was rough I can't imagine having to go home that soon!

I asked my surgeon last visit. He said 90% leave after one night. The other 10% either are having trouble keeping liquid down or ask to stay because home is hectic with kids etc and they want peace and quiet

My surgeon does 2 nights. I would've loved to leave after 1 though

My stay was one night for VSG. Standard for my surgeon.

30-36 hours was my surgeon's standard.

2 nights , was suppose to be one night but my 8:30 am surgery was postponed to 3 pm due to an emergency.

I am told mine will be one night. Lots of surgeons around here do same day discharge.
