Do any of you vets completely ignore this rule?
Never and I wouldn't. People who say it doesn't stretch their sleeve cannot know this. Are they getting tested to find out if their sleeve a stretched? Studies have shown that carbonation does stretch the stomach. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Can't decide which surgery
You can having dumping with both. You can have sagging skin with both. You lose rapidly with both, but statistically more with bypass. I had the sleeve because I didn't want my intestines rearranged. I still feel hunger, which is disappointing, but I deal with it. One big question / thought is that if you are relying on dumping and the surgery to make you make good choices, are you sure you're ready? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Difficulty swallowing pills after surgery
Same here. I'm almost 7 months out and it does get a little better, but not always. I get chewable in whatever I can stand. Drink something before you try to swallow something so your throat is not dry. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Sleeve size
H. You could ask the surgeon if you really want to know. I think mine uses a 40, also. He said that if it was smaller, it would be much harder to eat/keep food down. I like the idea of finding a surgeon who has good results. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Sleeve size
There are different sizes because they use a tube to measure. It's some French measurement tool. Different doctors may have different preferences. Mine doesn't use the absolute smallest size because it would make the sleeve too small (in his opinion.) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

What should I be feeling?
Yes, lots of noise is normal. Mine has calmed down (2.5 months out), but still makes an occasional random noise. You can double check with your doctor, but very normal Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Vitamins after Surgery
I have the Barimelt Calcium in smooth berry flavor and it is terrible. I take a Flintstones complete twice a day, B 12 that melts in my mouth in the morning, calcium at noon and 7 PM, and 3000 IU's of Vitamin D later at night with my second Flintstones. I buy store brand of all my Vitamins except for Flintstones. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Calories?
I was getting 525-800 calories at 4 weeks. That's when my doctor said I could try to get near 1000 but I probably wouldn't. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Impacted Stool
Glycerin suppositories and dulcolax or peri-colace. Fiber didn't help me, either. Things got a little better when I stopped taking pain medication, but I still have to use suppositories every few days. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
