Day 5 of pre-op and I miss food.

I am five days in to my ten day pre-op diet. My pre-op diet consists of three Protein shakes, five servings of fruit/veg, and an optional Protein Bar or lite Greek yogurt. I'm doing really well on the diet. 100% on plan. Days 1-3 were tough, but I'm not as hungry now. I am missing food though. Just the satisfaction I get from it, I guess. *sigh*. I know I can do this.

Katrina, you may not be nauseous or in much pain after surgery. Don't look forward to that! I had no nausea and more like discomfort rather than pain.

You are getting there!

I've noticed that quite a few people have to do a pre-op diet. I didn't. I ate regular meals all the way up to 12am the day of my surgery. I'm wondering why? I was about 280 lbs the day I had surgery, so no lightweight

Every doctor is different in their instructions and how they have patients do things prior to surgery. Also, insurance may dictate some of it as well.
