Hi everyone!

I'm 10 weeks post-op and loving life right now! I haven't had any major problems with food so far. I did have a stomach bug, which was awful, and several weeks of stalls, but I'm 52 pounds down (32 since surgery) and feeling great!

My biggest problem right now is that I'm so TIRED. I don't know what is going on with my body! When I get home from work, I sometimes fall asleep for a couple of hours, wake up and eat something light, then fall back asleep a couple of hours later. I'm definitely having trouble getting my daily exercise because my body says NOPE half of the time. My nutritionist told me that I need to try to exercise before I go home at night because otherwise I'll fall asleep. I never used to be this tired.

Does anyone else have trouble with major exhaustion post-op? I try to take all of my Vitamins...sometimes I miss a few here and there, but I try to be as consistent as possible. I take an Iron supplement and B12, so I would think those are helping, but it sure doesn't seem right.

I'll get bloodwork done in a couple of weeks and see if we can find a solution, but just wondering if anyone else is having this issue?

ETA: I'm getting 75+ grams of Protein a day and I feel like I can eat more food than some sleevers, so I doubt food is the issue here. Water intake is okay...not stellar numbers, but much better than the first 2 months.

How are your Vitamins? Are you eating a variety of fruits and veggies?

Where are you at calorie wise? I needed to get up over 800 calories a day to really feel human again and up over 1100 calories a day once I was doing any kind of intense exercise. Otherwise I just didn't have the energy to move my body.

Any possibility it is thyroid condition? If you were on thyroid meds pre-op, it is worth getting your levels checked.

My surgeon and nutritionist had no complaints about my Vitamins, however I wasn't eating many veggies with trying to get the Protein in, so we lowered my Protein expectations and I've been eating more salads & vegetables.

I'm terrible tracking calories, but I estimate that I eat around 900-1000 a day without issue. I feel like I can eat more than a lot of sleevers. My NUT thinks I'm getting too obsessive over watching my diet, so she didn't want to give me a calorie goal (probably for the best).

Thanks for the reminder, Daisee! I had thought about this, but I was never on any thyroid medication. However, I do plan to ask them if this could be a factor at my appointment in two weeks.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
