that's quite a difference from mine D: I'm on it for four weeks before surgery. I'm already a week into it. my surgeon said it would reduce the size of my liver, which will help with the surgery.

do you have any other dietary restrictions before your surgery?

~~ nell.

I'm two days post-op and feeling great! I think the worst part is the gas pain. Another person I met gave me some gasx strips and they do help. I read somewhere on this site that it feels like you did a killer ab workout and I would have to agree. Not bad at all though!

I'm glad you are feeling great. Today is 5 days post op and I'm miserable. I can't get enough Protein down. After I drink I feel so full I could vomit. Maybe it has to do from throwing up so much the day I had surgery ... maybe I have additional swelling? I'm starting to think I made a mistake. .

I had surgery on May 2nd. First time ever having surgery of any kind. I told the anesthesiologist hai and he gave me all 3 medications and a patch behind my ear to wear for 4 days. I was in the hospital 2 nights and was miserably fighting nausea and pain, my first day home was Ok and it got a little better the next day. But today, way better and I slept so much better last night I think everyone must have that point to overcome the pain where it's like you've made it to be other side of the mountain. I hope yours comes sooner than later. I do imagine all the stress of vomiting so early after surgery has increased the duration of your pain. Praying for a speedy recovery.

I'm sorry you're still feeling yucky. I threw up a lot too the day of surgery and the entire night but definitely better last night. I haven't started on Protein yet and I'm barely drinking anything because I get such bad gas pains when I do. I've heard it gets better. Chin up!! The end results are going to make it all worth it!

Hey Everyone! How are you doing? I had my surgery on 5/2 and am feeling fantastic! Very little pain. Typical gas but walking helps. Here is information on a Facebook private group. It has been an amazing support system for me. Hope to see you there!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
