Hello!

That's my date too...BUT Im still waiting on the final approval so its a bit nerve wracking! Im supposed to start by liquid diet on Friday the 18th. I have been easing into it though....by getting all my Water in, eating cottage cheese for lunch, Protein shakes & then some Protein at dinner. I should be approved any day!! Argghhhh

How is your pre-op going? How are you feeling about it all?

On 2nd day and am doing ok! Was a little difficult yesterday but a lot better today! Only problem I had was the constant running to the bathroom to tinkle most of the night. When I got up I weighed myself and had actually lost 3.5lbs (I know it's Water weight but I'll take)! Can't wait for the next 13 days to end!

If my boobs get bigger than my tummy I am 2 seconds from being anorexic. With the weight I am a 38C! I know I am going to say bye bye to them real soon! Hope to go no lower than a 36B!

I have same surgery date and am on day 2 of Optifast. Yesterday was hard. So far, vanilla with extra vanilla extract and ice is my favorite shake so far. Have you tried the Soup yet? chicken is surprisingly flavorful. Lost 2.8 pounds in one day. I'm curious to see how many pounds I'll loose in the next 2 weeks.

The first day is was down 3,5lbs and this morning another 1,5lbs - 5lbs in 2 days!! Went to Dr. today and he said with exercise I could lose from 15 to 20lbs by surgery day but on average at least 10lbs. I will take it!!! 3rd day and so far I am not killing anyone in the family. Good Luck!

That's my date as well. I just finished day 4 of 11 on my Optifast diet. It hasn't been that bad. I've lost 10 lbs already. The chocolate shake and the chicken flavored Soup are the best. It will be interesting to go a full week at work on this liquid diet.

It looks like we are having the surgery on same date with same surgeon!!! Awesome. My arrival time is 7:30am. One week to go. I can't believe I made it through a week of Optifast!

Good luck. Maybe I'll see you in recovery. LOL

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
