So I had a post a little bit ago stating foods weren't tasting right to me. It progressed to the point where even I can't tolerate a popsicle! I have been sipping on Water, though. I haven't eaten in about three days now and am extremely nauseated. I vomited today, so I reached out to my surgeon. He is having me sip on hot tea and water for now and I am to go into the hospital tomorrow via his orders. I am nervous because I don't want to stay another night in a hospital (they were very good to me). Has anyone been through this? Needing encouragement right now

Take a deep breath, my friend and do what you have to do.

Try to let go what you can't control and give over to your surgeon. He/she will be able to get you on the right path. Have faith.

Please, post often. We care.

Prayers going up for you.

Went to the doctor today. I was given another nausea medicine to pair with the Zofran. They also ran a couple labs on me and I was sent to their infusion center. They gave me fluids for about three hours and I did feel better. I managed so sip a little Soup for dinner and did not get sick...yay!

I'm having problems getting enough fluids and Protein. My taste changed after my surgery, I didn't expect that. Protein Shakes, smoothies make me very nauseated. I can sip popsicles. Any advice appreciated.

My doctors gave me a combination of medicines and it helped. How are you with Water?

Oddly enough, Water tastes funny. I'm only going to the bathroom 1-2 Times daily and it's not much. I'm afraid I'm getting dehydrated. I'm sipping as much as I can. Usually 30oz max. Suggestions appreciated.

keep sipping the popsicles and Water as much as you can. KEEP SIPPING.

In the morning, call your surgeon's office and let them know the trouble you are having. They will be able to guide you over this rough bump.

Just prepare yourself to have IV fluids if you can't get enough fluids in. Doing so will actually make you feel a great deal better. Is it pleasant? no. Does it help? Hell, yeah!

Let us know how you're doing.

Prayers going up for you!

I appreciate your answer so much! I was kind of guessing about the IV. My skin is getting dry as well. I guess I'll call the office in the morning.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
