If someone would have told me a year ago that I would be running, I would have laughed at them. LOL!! I twisted my knee running last Tuesday so I took the rest of the week off. I honestly didn't know if I was going to be able to run at all on Saturday but I did it!! Not only did I do it, I ran my fastest 5K time ever. Yay me!! Even though the scale and I are not friends right now, I feel good and I am so proud of myself. I have been challenged to run a half marathon in Sept. (I must be crazy). I have a lot of work to do. Game on!! :)

Wonderful! Congratulations! Running my first 5K I think was even more fulfilling and exciting than running my first 1/2 marathon. I guess mainly because it was the first realization I had that I could do something athletic and push my body further than I ever thought I could. Good luck on your 1/2 marathon.Just stick with a good training plan and you'll do great!

That's awesome. Way to go! I had surgery last month and plan to run one in December. I want to give myself time to lose some weight and get in shape in general. I've never even run a mile in my life but often wished I was more of a runner.

You look great! What an awesome accomplishment for you. Be proud!! I feel the same way about no way in hell can I do it now, but that is my goal. I can walk a 5K, but I want to RUN one!!

Congrats!! Way to keep on keeping on in spite of you injury. That's the sign of being committed.

I am running my first 5k on April 9th. I have walked several, but this one will be the final workout of my C25K plan! I am thinking I should be able to run at least 80% of that distance. I am really slow so 30 minutes of running isn't going to quite get me to the finish line.

Congrats again and keep it up!

Pam

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
