Stress & Anxiety

Recommended Posts

I've always had a little Stress and Anxiety even the psychologist before surgery mentioned I should go on something. Lately though it has been a lot worse at times like right now I feel like I'm going to have a nervous breakdown. Work has been extra stressful for me.

I had surgery about 3 months ago I don't really think it's related but just wanted your thoughts on if it's something I should talk to my surgeon about I tried to call my doctor but they don't have an appointment for almost two weeks right now I'm just feeling I might need to go to the Urgent Care Center

Just wondered if anyone had an issue like this after surgery

If you are feeling completely overwhelmed and like you really can't handle things right now, then I do think you should probably go to the urgent care. They may be able to quickly refer you to someone, if you can't get a referral through your PCP or surgeon right away.

Definitely seek out the medical help that you need! If you feel like you are having a panic attack, definitely get some help! To answer your question, yes, my anxiety was heightened after surgery because my method of dealing with stress and anxiety was to binge eat so I would not think about what was bothering me. Now, I found myself post op and not being able physically to do that. It was a tough time adjusting to new coping mechanisms. I started therapy with an eating disorder therapist and have been able to deal with things that way.

Def seek help. I suffer from pretty bad anxiety and I'm on medication for it. I briefly weaned off a couple of months ago because the med I'm on tends to make me gain weight. Needless to say I'm super anxious about the upcoming surgery and had a full blown panic attack yesterday. So today, back on the meds.

There is no shame in getting some help and I agree, if you feel overwhelmed you should get in with your PCP. An urgent care type of place isn't the best for this type of thing.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
