One-on-one holiday exercise challenge, anyone?

I dare ya! I double dare ya!

Is there anyone who's roughly at the same place I am (70-100 lbs. to go, 1-6 months after banding, 35-55 yrs. old) who'll take up a challenge from me? Oh, hell, I'll challenge anybody!

Weigh in on Nov. 22 (the 41st anniversary of the JFK assassination), check in again on Jan. 3 (first Monday of the new year). Only rule is: no fasting or other insane food deprivation. Or, if you want, we can have a straight exercise challenge on the honor system; you set the terms, whether it's miles, steps, minutes, etc. One-on-one, in the street, you vs. me. Come on, you competitive bandsters, just try to kick my ass! (Mind you, that's a big target.)

Betty, did it ever make ME sick to eat a 2 pound box of See's candy? NOPE. The apple don't fall far from the tree ya know!

Becky, I think you are indeed nuts. I can't imagine taking 5 kids anywhere.

Lisa, good for you! You don't have to like it.

It's flooding down in Texas, for all you Stevie Ray Vaughn fans. I walked in the rain and the 100% humidity. I slipped in mud, got bitten by mosquitoes, and was followed by a stray Pit Bull who fell in love with me, but I walked 2.7 miles.

See's candy is the best. My LA relatives used to send big boxes of the stuff to the cheesehead family branch every Christmas. One year my mother's Siberian Husky devoured a pound of peanut brittle and most of a box of chocolate mints. Great breath and no stomach trouble -- not even a twinge of chocolate-induced mania. My Chocolate Lab (coincidence?) got into the caramel suckers a couple of years after that and swallowed plenty of wrappers but kindly left the sticks behind. Is there a connection between bandsters and candy-loving dogs? Nancy, you didn't give that Pit Bull any sweet stuff, did you?

Like I said, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, so my dogs have eating disorders. Their names are Voodoo and Sachi, but Chris calls them Needs and Issues.

No, no sweet stuff for the dog! That sounds disgusting! However my dog did eat a whole bag of chocolate covered coffee beans once. He didn't seem any more manic than usual.

Needs and Issues, I like that!

Thanks Greg ( I think) for noticing I had not joined this challenge yet.

I just can not get motivated to exercise..I promised my self that once I got to ONE-DERLAND that I would. I need HELP!!

Is there a prize for this challenge :laugh Maybe that would help! My weight loss is going great without it so I dont want to mess up a good thing ...Excuses Excuses..Someone kick me in the ASS Please!!! I did go shopping for 4 hours today and wrapped all my presents when I got home ...Does that count :ermm

Michelle, there will be little goodies at the end of the challenge. You do so well with your weight loss -- give it a shot. I really needed this to get motivated. So far it is working. I swam laps for 45 minutes today while the kids swam. That's it for today because I'm pooped.

Had gotten over the flu and was planning on getting up this morning and getting back on track with my walking mania. Then my MIGRAINE headache hit me full force this am. SO in bed for a couple of extra hours this morning. The thing with me is if I don't do anything like exercise in the AM it won't get done. SO needless to say I did NO exercise today. BAD PENNI!!

I promise to do better tomorrow. That will be my challenge to exercise at some point in the day if I can't do it in the morning. I put that challenge on myself. HMMM!! Heading to the treadmill now?? NO I AM NOT! I said TOMORROW I start that challenge. LOL!!!!

Love you guys.

Yesterday I did 60 minutes of water aerobics and was a greeter (on my feet the whole evening walking around) at a fundraiser called the Festival of Trees (very posh...). I thought I was doing great food wise until just before I left the festival and saw the long table full of scrumptous desserts. I of course lost all my self control, grabbed one and snuck it home with me. OH MY GOODNESS it was heavenly: a thin round layer of chocolate sorrounded some kind of chocolate orange mousse on a thin cake layer topped with a chocolate leaf on top. I felt SO sick afterwards though. Not a PB sick but a "its too rich" sick. It wasn't even really that big but obviously big enough. Speaking of dogs, my dogs are pudgy too and like sweets. I have a huge bowl on my coffee table that has 3 gigantic candles in it and then gold leafed pine cones and poutpouri. Everytime I leave the house I now find one of my dogs munching on the pine cones and poutpouri... HMMM... Doesn't sound too tasty to me...

My dogs aren't allowed sweet stuff. But what they are allowed to do and what they cleverly find ways of getting into are two different stories!
