My file was submitted last Friday and I called UHC tonight to verify that they'd received it. According to the rep I spoke with, they still don't see it in their system. :(

@@taweedeegirl I already did all of that stuff. I had to get clearance from a cardiologist (I had a full heart work up-ekg and echocardiogram), I had a chest x ray, an EGD, blood work, physical with PCP, I had to submit full medical records from PCP, sleep study, results from last Pap, and something else but I cannot remember. My surgeon required all of that before they would submit. All I need to do once I get approval is my pre-op with PCP and pre-op blood work. At my first appointment with my surgeon she gave me a list of things she wanted before she would submit

did your PCP have to put in a referral to get approval before you saw your surgeon?!

if she already sent in the approval for you to see the surgeon then the insurance company has already cleared it

all you need is your date!! I am at the same status right now ..only difference is I have to do my upper G.I. test to see if it is clear

I emailed my benefits coordinator right after that call. I would like to think they AREN'T lying about when they submitted it...but I'm a bit suspicious. So now I've made it a point to let them know that I am monitoring this part of the process closely. I have my next appointment on the 24th and was hoping to have approval by then so we can schedule my surgery and get this show on the freakin road. I've been working on this since June of 2015.......

....so I'm ready to have an answer and get on with my NEW life already.

I'm disabled so I have Medicare and Medicaid. It has taken me a total of 14 months so far. I have Graves' disease so I had to have my thyroid removed last March. It has been a LONG time coming

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
