So nervous ... Help my psych eval Saturday 01/02/16

Recommended Posts

Mine took 30 minutes with a personal interview. She was asking questions that would help her determine why I wanted the surgery and was I prepared to do what it would take to be successful We talked about eating disorders with the caution to not replace food disorders with a new addiction such as drinking or smoking. Totally painless procedure for me. I worried for nothing.

Mine really was 4 hours. Talking to the shrink at the end took about 20 minutes. The longest portion of the visit for me was a list of 800+ questions on a multiple choice test booklet. Felt like the SAT test from high school (length of test not type of questions)!

But nothing stressful. Was the psych office's way of making sure I knew what to expect and could and would comply with lifestyle changes needed to make the tool work the best.

Mine didn't involve any written tests, just a casual conversation that took about 20 minutes. I was apprehensive too going in, as I didn't know what to expect, but it turned out to be the easiest requirement of all. Just relax and be yourself and you'll be fine.

I looked up what the tests are that they had me take. Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory–2 and the Millon Behavioral Medicine Diagnostic test. And answers filled out on one of those scantron sheets from school days.

Every office does their own thing. I know a lady who took only an online questionnaire and that was enough to satisfy the insurance and surgeon's office.

I would have preferred to do just the last 20 minutes face to face!

I was scared and nervous also. Took a hour with the dr and they usually book 2-3 hours for testing. The test isn't nearly as bad as I had it being in my mind lol

I had to do the same test. It wasn't terrible, some of the questions were really funny.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
