Are you looking for the BariatricPal Store? Go now!

Recommended Posts

I know it’s a few days early and you may still have a party or two left to attend, but…I thought I’d ask anyway. That way, we can get help from each other on making great resolutions that are inspirational and doable.

So far, my weight loss resolution is to take a few seconds before I eat to ask myself if I am really following the basic rules of eating when I’m hungry and making healthy choices. I would like to lose a couple of pounds and I think this is the way to do it without making dramatic changes that won’t last for a long time.

My non weight loss resolution is to keep working hard to make BariatricPal as supportive as it can be for EVERYONE in the weight loss surgery community, from pre-op to post-op and beyond. This year has been phenomenal with the forums growing, the launch of The BariatricPal Store, and growth in our Surgery Deals in Mexico to allow people to get surgery if they can’t afford it in the U.S.

So, what are your New Year’s Resolutions?

I usually am not fond of New Years Resolutions because I feel you should make changes at any time of the year...but I've come to realize that New Years Day means a lot to people and for some it really helps to start on January 1st.

So this year my weight loss resolution is to really focus on fitness. I really like working out and trying different things but it as hard to lose weight because of dieting. Now that I have the sleeve as a tool I have no excuse.

My non weight loss resolution is to save money, date more and travel solo. I love travelling :D

I don't make resolutions, but I have set a goal. I got a personal weight training trainer for Christmas and my goal is to complete the three-month program and then to continue on my own.

Get to goal weight. (Actions to get there are tracking portions and committing my food plan.)

Non weight loss goal: buy a house after this flipping divorce is final.

#1 --- Goal weight.

And have a couple of fitness goals:

- riding my road bike thru the Rocky Mountains (almost 400km)

- hiking up two specific mountains

To finally be at peace with myself and just live happily ever after.

I no longer worry about New Years resolutions, everyday is and should be a resolution...

But considering all the junk I have been eating/drinking for the past few weeks, I am going to go on a 2 week "PaleoClense" to rid my body of all these toxins I have accumulated....

Have to wait till Jan 2nd though, New Years day is still a party day.....

BTW, I have been going to one Health Club - Gym for over 5 years now, and every New Years the place is packed with all those committing themselves to one resolution or another....after a few weeks it starts to fall back towards normal again...

That is what I think of New years resolutions...if you're going to do it, then do it...why wait till a certain day which comes but once a year....

Oh gosh, where do I start? Since I was just sleeved 12/7, my main goal is to continue to lose weight. I am beginning to get more active, but a resolution is to become more and more active.

I want to start hiking, which I have never been able to do. I live close to a State Forest and would love to visit there a whole lot more and do walking and hiking there.

My non weight goal, is to be a better person, and become more spiritual. Become closer to God.

Also, possibly go back to school and get a second Accounting degree. Still pondering this one though :o)

Good luck to everyone!!!

My first goal is to get to goal weight and maintain.

I also want to do the Couch 2 5K program and do a 5K and then progress to a 10k, maybe even a half marathon in November!

My first goal is what it is every single day.

To be Healthy!!

To me that means not only making healthy choices in the food I choose to put in my body, or about the way I move or don't move my body through out the day but also to make sure that I am not over working myself, dealing with stress in positive pro-active ways as well as creating and maintaining a positive healthy environment around myself to ensure the success of my goals.

I know it's a pretty big over arching goal. To get there I make little goals each and every day. Starting with waking up in the morning and preparing for the day ahead. Each thing I do through out the day is a mini goal marker for me toward my overall goal.

Many of us I think take being healthy for granted and we focus on only our weight loss, but for me it's so much more than being able to lose weight. My weight is only one thing in the kaleidoscope of my life, and it all needs to fall into place to create that big picture that is ever changing.

I'm finally down to a weight where I can go horseback riding and would absolutely love to get out riding in 2016. I want to try ziplining too. There are so many things that my weight used to restrict me from doing - I want to do them all!

Get to goal weight (Hopefully by April) then maintain. Increase my activity, exercising at least 5 times each week.

My goal for 2016 is to reduce my body fat percent, get my boob fixed, and find a boyfriend - bet that is a unique combo!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
