Congratulations I had my revision from sleeve to gastric bypass on September 04, 2015. You will love the GB much better than the lapband.

Hi there. I also had RNY done on Dec 1st. I live in TX, but would love to have an online support system. Have just started on soft proteins...cottage cheese, mashed up black Beans, fat free string cheese, and my Protein Shakes are all going down very well. I'm not having any issues with liquids at all. I find if I take my time, I can pretty much drink all my shakes and Water. The weight game has always been such an emotional deal for me. I'm down 14 lbs since surgery date on the 1st. That's averaging about a pound a day. Start weight was 226. Wondering if I'm just being too hard on myself because I read so many others that lose twice as much within the first 2 weeks. Thoughts?

@@Lisee45 You're doing great! I had my RNY on Dec 1, too. I lost some in the pre-surgery diet and all in all, i'm down 24 pounds. It's like a pound a day for me now, too. I lost more in the beginning, which makes sense. But I have a lot more to lose than you do, too.And like I said, that includes ten days pre-surgery, all the way to today.

I'm still on full liquids (creamed Soups, yogurt etc) but move to pureed on Dec 23 and can start having even more choices. It's so exciting, like "Christmas!" hahahahaha...

I also have had no problems with eating or drinking, so far.

Good luck!

Hi - I had the exact same surgery (band to bypass) on the 7th so we are a week apart! I also live in California, near Sacramento! I'd be happy to have a friend in this journey!

I hope you are feeling well!

Kelly

at bugsy72...thank you for the reply! I guess I should feel fortunate that I can literally "stomach" what I am supposed to be eating just fine. Congrats on your weight loss. This should be a wonderful journey! Good luck!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
