Letty's journey post-op

Recommended Posts

I went clothes shopping today and for the first time I enjoyed it!! Got myself some large size blouses, before were 2xl and I just didn't like seeing myself in the dressing room in those big mirrors.

Ladies I absolutely recommend getting a Shapewear, I found this one that truly makes my figure much better and let me tell you it helps with my friends (my boobs) don't know you guys but mine are getting very saggy and needed some kind of support, well this made the trick I loved it got it at TJMaxx for only $19 dollars. I sure don't look like her, but maybe one day ????????????post-260556-14491748541358_thumb.jpg

Just needed to share! I'm wearing a size 14 skinny jeans today. And I have to wear a belt because they are too big around the waist but fit nicely everywhere else.

@@lorri716 that's awesome, what size were you before the surgery. I just also fitted in size 14 and before surgery I was a 20. We are really similar. How is your mom doing?

I am at size 14 skinny jeans too!! We are awesome! The ladies at work are super excited over my weight loss always commenting on how good i look. They dont know about surgery. I still think that yes surgery definitely helped me alot but it has taken effort and dedication to stay on my diet plan. Because I have eaten a few fritos and 1 cherry cupcake pie so I know I can eat those things without getting sick but I can't eat them all the time. Now I notice how so many women are overweight its more common than being thin. Young and old I guess before I never really noticed. I wish I had done this surgery when I was younger but I guess I wasn't ready until now.

@@rln52 I totally agree with you. It's a long term commitment to change our eating habits and I also could eat anything and don't get sick to my stomach.

I always measure everything and don't go beyond that amount. As of today, I haven't had any fruit at all because that is a weakness for me. I used to eat tons of fruit before surgery and I know it could stop my weight loss if I start eating them. I also need to be really careful with nuts since I could eat them without having any issues.

I did told my coworkers about my surgery and they are very supportive.

Excited about all of us being a size 14!!! Yaay for us!! I also don't have any regrets having the surgery, sometimes I do think why I didn't had it earlier, however I know I was not prepared for the changes then.

Happy Friday!

Beautiful day in Haslet,TX, a little windy but it's nice. This is one of the large blouses my hubby bought me the other day. Pants are size 14, I actually had them for over 5 years and with tags, I remember buying them cause I really liked them and until now they fit!! I'm 5 days away from being 4 months post op and weighing today 192.

We're getting ready to Celebrate my husbands birthday today he turns 45 years!! post-260556-14493412646958_thumb.jpg

Looking great Rdsegobia. That's a pretty blouse. I find myself buying brighter colors now. Love wearing fun clothes. Sometimes it takes me more time than before to pick out what I am going to wear now that there are so many choices. Even wearing jewelry too. I love it!

I forgot to mention that at the beginning I was having problems going to the bathroom, I was very constipated, however when I had my 2 months follow the doctor said it was ok for me to start drinking the ground flaxseed and chia seeds.

So what I do first thing in the morning I take 1 tablespoon of chia seeds and another tablespoon of ground flaxseed with 10 oz of Water and all my bathroom problems disappear. Plus the chia and flaxseeds are high in Omega, double win! Below are the ones I drink and I buy them at sprouts or the Vitamin shoppe.

Please get your doctor approval before you start taking them.

I eat prunes 2 per day. Yogurt and Protein Shake seems to help with Constipation. I asked my doctor about prunes and he said yeah. Agree this is a pain and probably the worse problem to date. So really not that bad if i plan my attack well. Lol

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
