Just set my Surgery date today for December 28th!

Recommended Posts

Hello,

This is my first post on here. Ive been reading everyone's journeys as I prepared to embark on my own. I am 22, male, 370 pounds. I am getting surgery done in December on the 28th in Mexico. Very nervous, but excited to start getting healthy. I plan on making video logs and posting them on YouTube as I progress through my journey. I've always been overweight and I'm tired of standing on the side lines watching my friends and family live life. It's my turn. I record music as a hobby and would love to make music and preform someday. I'm hoping to find some friends on here to form a support group. post-266118-14472153948155_thumb.jpg

Charley,

Its great your doing this now at 22. It beats a life time of the next fad diet that never works. I have not set my date for surgery as yet, but it will be somewhere around when you do. I just finished my cardio and my Dr. from Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox Illinois said that was all I needed to complete all the requirements. My Insurance is a go, so after my Doctor gets the cardio which was much easier than I ever thought, I too can set a time. I will follow your journey and hope only the best.

Deb

Welcome and congrats on making the decision to change your life forever. My daughter and I both have had the sleeve done this year. I got mine on 9/1 and she got hers on 10/20. It was by far the best decision I have ever made. I regret nothing. It's so nice to wake up every day knowing that in the near future I will be at a healthy comfortable weight. I'll be able to look in the mirror and see the person I've always wanted to see. The person that will match my outgoing personality. The sleeve truly does change your life in all different ways. Your attitude changes, your thought process, your outlook on life everything. Good luck on your journey.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
