Surgery tomorrow 10/28

Recommended Posts

I am having my sleeve done tomorrow and I am struggling with the clear liquid diet already and it's only 8:50 in the morning. I am so nervous and excited at the same time. Hoping everything goes well.

I know you can do it! My surgery isn't until December 9th, so I haven't experienced it myself...but I have faith in you that you will be able to come through this with flying colours!

Good luck, I hope you have a smooth surgery and a speedy recovery! :D

lucky you! One more day and i have 12 more to go :( . I would try to distract myself maybe go to the mall and look at the clothes that you will want to wear once you are at your goal weight, or read a book. Good luck on your surgery tomorrow

The clear liquid diet was one of the worst parts. It will pass quickly.

Hope all went well for you today. The first few weeks may be rough but keep in mind it will go by quickly and you will be back to feeling more normal again soon. I was sleeved a month ago today and time has flown by.

I had the sleeve along with an umbilical hernia repair. I'm not gonna lie and say I'm not in pain. I'm hurting! The nausea hasn't been as bad as I thought it would. I have actually drank quite a bit. Ice chips have been my friend. Should start drinking my Protein Shake soon and if I can tolerate it then I can go home z!

Great news. I had to switch from Isopure to Nektar clear Protein Drinks. Drinking the Isopure was torture.

Do you feel like you were kicked in the guts? Do you have any liquid Vicodin? It works well but tastes like NyQuil. Hard to get down but necessary.

Are you going home today?

I have some liquid norco. And as far as the pain surgical pain goes, it's not that bad. These darn gas pains are killing me. As I sit here awake, so early in the morning, I am reminded of a song with a slight revision of the lyrics. To the tune of "Gimme Three Steps" by Lynard Skynard. As I sit here in bed, with gas pains so bad. I'm a shakin like a leaf on a tree. Oh gimme three steps, gimme the steps mister, just to pass some and not hurt so bad.

Love Skynrd. Had some blasting on my Marshall Bluetooth speaker in the kitchen yesterday while cooking for my family.

I had my sleeve and umbilical hernia repair (3rd time) on Oct 13, 2015.

Pain will become much improved really soon. You've got more to deal with than the average sleeve surgery. Stay on top of the pain by dosing on schedule.

You may need to ask your surgeon for additional pain meds, too. Mine only gave me the standard sleeve amount. The hernia pain was on another level, however.

You'll feel much, much better by day 5......... I promise.

Best wishes.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
