I am 10lbs below goal and still will never be able to pull off the sexy Halloween costumes that are in abundance for women...who the hell are they marketing to?

You can always get a long wig and go as Lady Godiva. :)

Halloween is the heaux dream holiday. I usually see lots of sexy every thing.

I don't get Halloween period, I didn't really grow up celebrating it. It just seems like an annoying road bump to the real holiday season.

I always love the idea of Halloween. But we never did anything. My parents never really Celebrate anything, and being overweight my whole life if I even mentioned going trick or treating I got lectures about my weight. As an adult it became more of not wanting to get up and go to the door every few minutes especially since our apartment is on the second floor. I was always self conscious so I never enjoyed putting on a costume either.

I much prefer the holidays that come after, Thanksgiving and Christmas (though I'm technically jewish)

I'm not a big fan of Halloween. I have a cute costume this year, but it also involves some really great tights, otherwise no way could I pull off the short tutu that goes with it. I feel like Halloween is the one time of year where it is socially acceptable for good girls to dress like wh*res and so, I am ok with it. If the rest of the year I wear conservative clothing, I figure once a year I can go out and look like hookerella and I should be good.

I loved Halloween when I was a kid but hate it as an adult because all of the cute costumes are not for fat people I can't wait til next year when I can rock those sexy costumes

that's exactly what I said to myself last year before my surgery! For one time in my entire life I might be able to pull off an adult costume off the rack, but I am convinced that yes- Halloween is for ho's fat or skinny. I love love love Halloween still, but this year I am dressing as a pumpkin! :)

What makes this risque is that your significant other is dressing up as "Peter Peter". ;)

I absolutely love Halloween! In fact my husband and I love it so much we got married on Halloween 28 years ago. When we have purchased houses, we chose Halloween to close on them. LOL.

It is our lucky number too!

For many many years we have had huge Halloween parties where friends would fly in or drive in and stay the week, weekend, whatever they could. We Celebrate Halloween in my family bigger than Christmas.

My family and friends would also get dressed up for trick or treat, come to our house and scare the neighbors. Our house was called the Halloween house in our neighborhood and we always got a huge turnout, people would drive in from other parts of the city to see it.

At our costume parties we always had to dress up and finding great costumes in a size 3x was near impossible.i spent a small fortune on our costume after all we were the host and hostess. Although this is the 2nd year in many that we are not having a huge party, I am excited that I could actually find and purchase a costume in a size large and it will likely fit great.

I will say it is kind of sad that we sold our home and moved states so a party this year is near impossible. Hopefully next year!

Halloween rocks!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
