So I began my STRICT 3 week liquid diet Oct 7th today is Oct 24th and I'm down by 21 pounds... the headaches, head hunger and withdrawals are crazyyyyyyy to say the least. My surgery is in 4 days Oct 28th and my anxiety level is at 1000. My excitement is surreal but the journey of liquid diet has NOT been easy.

3x daily Protein Shake

4x daily sf Jello or popcicles

Water all day

All day Sf Decaf tea

All day clear broth

3xs daily 1 cup vegetables

As much as i want (yuk) Crystal light

This has been my journey thus far...

My nerves are on edge as my emotions run wild W my up coming surgery. Wish me luck and please feel FREE TO WRITE I can use the support of others sharing my same journey. Oh FYI my family has been amazing!

I'm my surgery the same day as you (Oct 28). I started my pre-surgery diet on the 12th. The first few days were rough but then my energy came back and I feel OK. I even made Cookies for my family and didn't even taste one. There's a bowl of Halloween candy on the dining table and I have no desire to have any. Normally I would have grabbed a piece every time I walked past it. I hope this continues after the surgery.

Some things I'm doing to help with my anxiety:

  • Listen to music and walk
  • Look at clothing web sites
  • Look at theme park web sites and imagine how fun it will be when I won't have to worry about fitting in the rides
  • Look at my medicine bottles and think of how great it will be when I no longer need most of them
  • Think about how fun it will be to play with my grandchildren without getting out of breath
  • Think about how fun it will be to surprise friends and family members

There are so many positive things to look forward to from having this surgery. Reminding myself usually reduces my anxiety.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
