Stomache pain when eating

Recommended Posts

Hey my friends. Just wanted to throw this out there and see if I get any response. I was sleeved on 10/13/15 and am still fairly sore. I've been walking every day as much as I can since Friday. But when it comes to trying to eat my full liquids which r ok by the way I'm allowed to do so. I hurt in my chest when broths go down. I tried refried Beans yesterday and it plum out hurt bout 5-6 minutes after eating them. To the point of uncomfortable pain/ pressure. Any tips would be appreciated. I can do puddings , Jello, and applesauce all sugar free w no problem

Hi Volsfan2 - I was sleeved on 10/12 and I have not had any issues so far and I am keeping my fingers crossed that the trend continues. Refried Beans are not allowed on my plan. So far, I have only tried broth, yogurt and Soup and of course the Protein drinks with no issues. I drink/eat them all pretty slowly. Hope you get better soon.

It could be you need to eat slower or you need a PPI such as prilosec or omeprazole. Remember we need to eat snails pace slow.

I was sleeved on 10/13 also and if I take to big of a sip of anything I also get that pressure and pain. I am on full liquids so no Beans or yogurt for me.

I did drink my 4 ounce Protein share with non fat fairfit milk and have had chest pain and gurgling intestines..... Then with in 20 minutes diarrhea. Sorry probably TMI but that is what is happening to me.

Thanks for the replies. I am gonna stop the Beans. Had just tried them cause they were soft after chewed good. I'm on the full liquids too so prolly shouldn't have tried the beans but anyhow. I'll get thru it day by day. Thanks again

Anything that can be chewed is not considered a full liquid. Beans would be more of a "soft" food, and you should be transitioning from full liquid, to puréed foods, then soft foods. So in theory you have another two weeks before you should have things like that. Trust me, I didn't even "cheat" and still ended up in the hospital 4-5 times within my first month just because my body had to learn what I could tolerate, even within those guidelines provided by our surgeon. Also your body is still healing and doing so can cause leaks, etc. so please take it slow, because we'd all hate to see you have any complications that are within our control to prevent. Take care and best of luck to you on this new journey.

I was also sleeved 10/13 and I am having pain with meals and also randomly at 4am every night for past 3 nights...my doc suggested I increase my omeprazole to 40mg so will let you know if that makes a difference.

Well with drinking....still only on clears...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
