Looking for those who had sleeve in August 2015

How's everyone doing on Vitamins? Still buying those expensive "bariatric" chewables, liquids or easily dissolved? My 6 months post op labs were good and all I was taking were the bariatric Multivitamins

Try Walmart "budget" Vitamins for me... lol...

I don't know UalreadyKnow. Weight loss has definitely slowed down tremendously. I'm now averaging 1- 2 pounds a week and sometime 0 pounds a week. And I strongly feel as though I'm not done losing. I attend the monthly bariatric support groups at my surgeons office and what I gather from other sleevers who starting weight was high like mine (349 pounds) was that your going to lose the majority of your excess weight within the fist 12-18 months. Now if after that 12-18 month honeymoon period you aren't at or near goal , you will never reach your goal. On the plus side losing 200+ pounds used to be unlikely with the sleeve and gastric bypass was always recommended. However since doing some research and reading a couple newbie post, sleevers are losing more than the standard 50-75% excess weight. What are their secrets? I would like to know. I'm eating around 1200 calories a day and working out 4-5 days a week consistently. I even work out in a sauna suit and I'm still not hitting my monthly weight loss goals. That can be very discouraging as sometimes I feel I'm doing all this work just for a 1-2 pounds a week weight loss. This has caused me to lose motivation however I still won't allow myself to give up.

Well at least you're seeing the scale go down on a weekly basis. I lose 4-6 pounds in a week then stall the remaining of the month, gaining a pound then losing it again until I drop the next significant 4-6 pounds again. It's very frustrating to be dieting and exercising and be stalled for 3-4 weeks!! Admittedly, I haven't been exercising as much as I should. I'm just sort of depressed and exercise is the farthest thing on my mind right now. Financial burdens are a bitch. Especially when my kids are on summer break and want to be on vacations and trips like their friends. And.... My daughter got her bicycle stolen and my sons chain popped right off the bike. That was our fun family activity. Not to mention my favorite exercise!!! I guess I just wish I could see some better results after struggling with everything I put in my mouth. Thanks for listening! You're a doll!!!

Wow UalreadyKnow. Things are definitely not going good for you right now but isn't that life? And we as Mom's have the ability to remain steadfast and strong as we endure such trials. In spite of everything "we are our strongest when we are are weakest". A quote from my Mother.

Wow! 2 lbs a week! You are rolling, that means maybe 8 or 9 lbs per month.... That is 64 to 72 lbs in 8 months.... Keep doing what you are doing! I feel you are going to keep losing... Stay the course! I am maybe 2 lbs per month now and I am ecstatic....

I guess I'm discouraged fly-high because 1-2 pounds a week is "normal" weight loss without the sleeve for a person who diets and exercise . In the beginning I was averaging 13-20 pounds a month! Now if only I can get back to those numbers lol

Hi

I have been struggling my friends. I am at my goal weight of 177.(now its 168)..now i seem to be a fat out of shape person who just happened to lose 72 pounds and has a smaler stomach.I have been eating alot more junk. Funny thing i feel like junk. Felt so good mentally when i was eating better. I have a personal trainer ( no charge and a blessing) to help me get stronger. My hair is so thin, I am thankful i had the surgery but seem like im back to some bad behaviors. Still cant drink water!!! If i use crystal light it is a bit better. I guess I haven't come on here as I don't want to be negative. eating at night, eating chips....having a few cold beers. Ambarrassed.

Hi lealor, we were about the same weight when we started and you're still doing much better than i am. I started at 252 and am currently only 193. I too, keep losing and gaining and experiences those plateaus all the time. I stopped seeing my nutritionist because my insurance stop paying for the visits, my Vitamin levels are all down and have lost lots of hair and still losing it. Still keeping up the Protein, Water and walking. Just wanted to let you know that you're not alone. We're all experiencing some set backs but will all bounce back. Hang in there.

How's everyone doing? Has anyone completed their 1 year post on visit? Have goals been met? My personal goal was to be at or under 200 pounds for my one year. I've been sitting pretty at 220. A 6 pound weight gain since my last post 2 months ago. But I'm happy to report I'm back on track and I had a serious convo with a woman from my surgeons braitric support group. She's 2 years out and has gained 50 pounds after reaching goal so she's struggling to "get back to basics " as they say. I know it's a silly thought but at one point I did feel as though I can eat old guilty pleasures again like a whole bagel with butter (it took me 2 hours to eat and I vomited after because I got really sick), or nachos and cheese with Hot dog (AMC movie date with hubby). I now realize I can't and won't allow myself to eat like that anymore because the sleeve will not work if I don't continue eating right and working my Buty off at the gym. I'm ready to continue my journey and make the next 6 months count. Who's with me?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
