Sept 22nd surgery- pre op diet today

Recommended Posts

I have read posts from others about getting nervous. I didn't understand until this afternoon. As I sat drinking my Unjury chicken broth for lunch it hit me that I am really in pre op now. Holy cow let the fun begin!

It's a really exciting and strange time, I remember it well as it was less than a month ago. Today is my three week surgery anniversary! Time flies, and there are really exiting things coming up for you very soon! Congratulations, and take good care of yourself. All your hard work is going to be worth it. :)

@@Knitchic I hear you! My surgery is actually the day before yours. This weekend I've been channeling my nervousness into nesting. I did my phase 1 pantry and fridge clean out; chucked everything I didn't think I'd eat in the next two weeks or sometime after surgery. I also did a serious deep clean of my house, moved furniture to sweep and mop behind, ended up rearranging my living room furniture. I figure these are things I'll be glad I did when I'm home for six weeks.

The last few nights I've had a little trouble sleeping and I keep thinking about all the things I want to eat while I still can. When I wake up the next morning I'm fine. It's just those few minutes. Weird.

@@Anxious2beme - I'm doing great. :) my incisions are looking fantastic and I have barely any pain at all. My side is a little sore today because I slept on it last night, but other than that... doing just fine. Thank you for asking!

I just had first surgery appointment last week and I am, like, excited, scared, ooo, back to excited, anxious, blah blah blah. Feel like I am literally feeling 12 different feelings an hour.

This is all exactly how I feel too. I am three days from my surgery (Sept. 11). One moment I'm excited, then nervous, etc.

Actually, what I really want is for it to be over and done. I'm tired of this crazy waiting, not knowing what will happen, what it will be like after. I've read so many people's stories here, the only one thing that's consistent is that everyone's different!

The pre-op diet hasn't been so bad, and I keep telling myself that my diet afterward will actually be less restrictive (I'm restricted to Clear liquids only right now; full liquids after I get home from the hospital). I can't believe it, but I am actually looking forward to the pureed foods stage!

My surgery is the 23rd of September. You are not alone! LOL. I feel like a hot mess. I am trying to get everything ready and can't seem to move fast enough. Not to mention that I am completely off nicotine and caffeine, my normal crutches! I am trying hard to just think about the positive life changes that will be taking place. Just know that we are all going through it in our own ways ????

Congrats on the countdown! The pre op does get a little easier. The chocolate unjury Protein drinks are AMAZING! I hope I still lake them post op. Oh and chicken flavored Unjury is great mixed with broth. Just like chicken noodle Soup minus the noodles. I find that around 8 or 9 at night are hardest for me. The munchies kick in and UGH I want chips lol.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
