Surgery went very well. I found out I also had a hiatal hernia that was repaired at same time. I have never been able to use sugar free anything so as soon as I was started on sugar free Jello I started having stomach pain. It took me about 24 hours to realize what the problem was. I talked the nurse into letting me eat regular Jello. Within 6 hours the stomach pain was gone. My doctor didn't seem to believe me and wasn't happy that I had been eating regular jello, but I'm the one suffering so I did it on my own. I experienced the same pain when I began my 2 week liquid diet with Carnation Instant Breakfast. It took me 2 days to realize what was causing my new stomach pain. I'm sure I won't loose as much or as fast but I can't handle the pain. I had to stay 2 nights because I wasn't able to get down as much liquid as they required. Hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend. We're just kicking back at the house watching movies & taking walks daily.

Glad to know everything went well and they were able to make the necessary changes to alleviate your pain. :) Congrats on your surgery!

Sept 21st as well. It's been 5 months since the start of this journey and it's hard to believe surgery is two weeks away.

Here we go starting pre-op diet today! Super excited! Surgery Sept. 21st :D

Good luck on your diet!

Today is my last day on mine, surgery tomorrow. I had a nightmare that we stopped at McDonald's on the way to the hospital for Breakfast tacos.

I just had mine September 2nd!

How are you doing today, Debs528?

Day 2 of pre-op diet: I sipped my peotein shake as slow as possible, started around 7am, finished it about 9am.... it's 10:30am and I'm starving! :"(

I'm 9/14, right around the corner.

So most of you have to start the pre-op diet a week before or something? I'm supposed to do mine 2 days before.

Surgery scheduled 9/22. I've been waiting for this for months and now I'm like, "ah! So much to do and so little time!"

Congratulations on your surgery date! :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
