Please Help. This Hurts!!

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I had my band installed in November of 2005.

It's now July 4. ~5pm.

I last eat some chicken fingers from my freezer ( had them several times before) last night at 9pm.

Then about 11pm I started violent vomiting. I was dry heeving all through the night.

I took Zofran, that helped a little. Took two regulare strength Motrin for headach and muscle aches.

My stomach really feels like its on fire. I'm no stranger to reflux, Iv'e been on Prilosec for a while.

I'm really worried about this burning. I can't eat. But, i'm taking small sips of Water. Does this sound like an emergency??

Thanks,

Ginny

been there -done that. i used to panic and run to mexico for an unfill. then wait a few weeks and get filled again. now i know that it is swelling in my esophogus and if i wait a few hours or even a day, it will pass. i drink hot liquid like coffee in small sips and see if it goes down. i dont eat before bed or lie down after eating. puking will make my throat sore and swell shut. so i always drink coffee in the morning and then lots of Water after i know all is going down. cold fluids first thing in the morning bother me for some reason. i had a cat scan a while ago to check my band and the doctor said all looked good. i was worried about damage to my band or slipping. the doctor said that my band was well placed and stiched into the facia (did i spell that anywhere near correct?) so i dont worry about if i get sick. but i try to avoid it. i only eat a few bites at a time and then wait an hour and eat a few more.. better for me this way. ive learned to deal with it. i actually feel better and eat more now that i eat less but more frequent. i do hard physical outdoor activity and it is so important that i dont get dehydrated. if i get dehydrated even a little , i get too tight and cant get even liquid down....... but im thin and ill deal with it..... good luck. try not to stress out......check in with doctor always .

I'm going through this right now! Every time I try to eat something, it comes right back, and it's burning. I pretty much made it through yesterday, but haven't tried eating anything yet today. I think I'll try drinking some hot liquid to see if that helps. I have also noticed that I can't drink anything cold in the morning or my band seems to tighten up right away. Thanks for the advice catzintj. It helped me if no one else!

I tried to explain this the last time I went for a fill but they think I am eating too fast or too much but this can happen after the first or second bite and then I can't eat any more alsofor the last week I have I guess acid reflux it wakes me up at night choking me and burning my throat I was so sore from throwing up and all the reflux I did not eat for 3 days and that did help but as soon as I went back to eating on the 3or 4 meal it has all started over again . That is why I am writing and 1:39 am I can not lay down or liquid of some sort comes up Help

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
