Stitch thread coming out of incision

Hi all

I am 30 days post op RNY and all of my incisions are healed up except one. I was drying off and this thread from my towel got stuck on the incision and this clear thread starts coming out! I trimmed it so it wouldn't get caught on anything but I'm scared! It's not bleeding but it's kind of sensitive to the touch. Has anyone had this happen? Do I leave it alone or keep pulling or call the dr?

Personally, I would call the Dr. But I do that at the drop of a hat. :-)

I would let your doc know, I am sure it was a just under the skin stitch but may need more attention if it's painful

Same thing happened to me but I don't quite remember how far out - 2 or 3 weeks maybe? I asked the dr office and they said pull it taught with tweezers and then trim it. They said they can do it for me or I could just do it, which I did. Having said that, I think it probably isn't a big deal but you might check with dr just to be sure since you are a little further out.

So what happened?

I had one sticking out from a leg surgery and when I told my surgeon, he just grabbed it with tweezers and yanked it out. :o I was startled but it wasn't more than a vaguely uncomfortable sensation and then it healed right up.

Hmm, I have one sticking out, too. Hmm, I'll probably call. I love this place. . . everything is here!!!
