He thinks I am going to change and leave him.. maybe get more attention from other men I am not sure he does not talk abot this alot...I am pretty much on my own...this is why I came here to get support........

Nice shellyd88 mines is august 17 cant wait!!!

My bf thinks the same thing, I know how you feel and he doesn't talk about it either. I could talk about this all day because it makes me happy and excited. Itd be nice to have someone to share the excitement with, that's why I come here.

Well that's an issue they need to work thru it can't be your problem if a relationship is stable it can withstand a lot losing weight to be healthy shouldn't be a threat to anyone

My husband was the same way at first. He didn't want me to have it at all at first. Then he got to the point where he would say, "you do what you gotta do, but I don't wanna hear about it." He tends to be insecure to the point where it can be kind of problematic and one time he said, "promise me you aren't going to leave me if you get thinner." That was rather upsetting as I took it that he felt like I only settled on him because I was overweight and couldn't get anyone else. Then come time I was scheduled my date the argument became about him not being able to be there due to his work and he felt like I was not being considerate of him. But now, this past month, 20 days out from surgery, he sent me the most supportive text message on my way to work this morning saying he was "so proud and excited for the journey I have begun" and that he has faith in me.

When all this started I thought we may end up a statistic and it may not last for us, but things have really started to come around. The message he sent me this morning surprised me and brought tears to my eyes because it has been such a battle and I didn't think I would ever hear those words from him. My hope for you is that maybe your fiancé will come around as my husband did.

That is so sweet of your husban I know it has to be amazing to have support from the person you love!! I am hoping he changes once I go through it. He is very a great man but I guess he feels a bit insecure or he just dont want to deal.I told him he didnt have to be there the day of my surgery since he made me upset. Thanks for showing support gives me hope☺

My husband is insecure as well and I always had to remind myself of that and try to take into account his feelings. But sometimes it was hard. I would try to remind him that he wants to have kids and we have tried for over a year with no luck. I tried to appeal to this side of him. The surgery may help with fertility, healthier pregnancy, etc. He would say "Promise that when the time comes we can try for kids and that is why you are doing this." I hate that he gives me like these little ultimatums, but I know he is scared. He broke down about a week ago and let me know that he was scared I would not come back from surgery and he didn't know what he would do without me and that is why he has been so against the whole process.
