Just curious to see if anyone has been approved or denied with this insurance?

I went to my last appt and they said I have met all the requirements they needed. Well apparently my insurance seen no comorbitities. So therefor I don't need it. I called the doctor and they're suppose to do a peer to peer tomorrow and call me after. I'm SO upset and discouraged. Especially after all money I've spent on my psych eval, gas for the appts every month that are 1 1/2 hrs away, all my protein, vitamins, etc. I have comorbitities according to the doctor so I don't understand?

Yes they submitted everything. They even looked it all over December 28th just to make sure I had all the requirements for my insurance. I did.

Have any of you tried unflavored protein powder? I'm not a fan of the flavored. I tried all the unjury flavors since a lot of people seem to like them and I didn't. I like my crystle light so I planned on mixing it with that. Advice?

Also, after your phone appt, your doctor will receive your clearance within a couple days so it's really great for people who got pushed to do it last minute.

You enter your insurance info and make your own appt to fit your schedule. Mine was at 7pm on a Friday night, after my kids were in bed so I could sit down and talk....without distractions lol.

I'm pre-op and hoping for a date of 1/21. I have an issue with dairy. As soon as I eat a piece of cheese or drink a little milk (lactaid, soy, almond, or skim) it almost instantly curdles and makes my stomach hurt SO bad. There's been a few times months ago I'd have a cheeseburger and the cheese hurt my stomach so bad I had to throw up to get it out of my stomach to stop the pain. So now I'm worried about protein powder. Even if I buy lactose free it might effect me the same as lactose free milk does. I've seen a doctor and they have no idea what could be wrong except I might be allergic to the protein in milk. So what in God's green earth do I do? Anyone else have this issue?

The doctor said lactose intolerance makes u have diarrhea? I'm the opposite. I can't go for a week after a baby piece of cheese and I even take fiber gummies everyday.

My doctors office submitted all my info this past week and we're hoping for a Jan 21st surgery date. I have to get myself in gear with Protein and Vitamins but I'm having a hard time remembering anything. My best friend, who I loved, took his life on Christmas eve. I was the last person he talked too. My head is in a fog and I can't concentrate on anything other than him and why?? There's so many questions I have that will forever be unanswered but in my mind I'm playing things out 24/7. I need to figure out this protein and what vitamins I need. I just, can't. My book says I'm required to take multivitamin/mineral supplements, Calcium citrate +vit D, Iron, and vit b12. Apparently I have to take the multivitamin/mineral supplement 4x a day? I'm thinking of going with Bariatric fusion. The calcium citrate I have to have 1200-1500mg a day total from diet and supplements so should I just take 2, 500mg chewables a day and assume the rest will be made up with the diet? As for protein, I hate it. The taste and texture of all the unjury makes me gag. I wanted to do unflavored with crystle light. I don't want to buy protein and then try it and hate it. Suggestions? I need all the help I can get. Thank you in advance. Sorry this was so long.

I'm 26yrs old, 5'5", and weigh 223. I'm wondering how much loose skin I'll have as well. My doctor said staying hydrated and working out to build muscle helps a lot.

My final appt was Dec 28th and I asked my doctor about it. I told her I was nervous I'd be denied. She said she doesn't really ever see disapproval from upmc for you insurance as long as u meet all the requirements. They said I should hear something this week. Normally they get back fast but due to the holiday it is prolonged.

If I take this one a day will I have to take Iron etc? I know my booklet said later on if I take bariatric fusion 4x/day I won't have to take any other vitamins/supplements.

My doctor is only requiring me to be on a 6 day pre op diet so I think for those 6 days I'm gonna try the premiere shakes. I was leaning towards isopure for unflavored but I'll definitely research the brands you mentioned. Very helpful, thank you

My next appt Dec 28th is my last visit for my 6 month supervised diet. Its my surgical clearance appt and we'll be submitting everything in for a date. Part of me isn't even excited anymore. I feel like I'm gonna be denied surgery even though I've met all my requirements. Does anyone else feel this way? If that does happen, what processes will I go through to try to be accepted again?

I'm kinda nervous about the psych eval. Idk what to say and what not to say. I'm on the fence over the whole thing. I guess just be honest and we'll see what happens.

If any of you remember a little while ago I was calling and calling to get into the clinic to do my eval. FINALLY got an appt and they cancelled on me due to a family emergency. Well I called and rescheduled and had an appt set for this month and they call to tell me they don't do bariatric surgery evals. Uhhhhm? So I've been wasting all this time?? I end up frustrated and call the other place near me that does them (on my bariatric sheet it lists all providers who do them in the region) and they apparently "aren't doing those at the moment". Today I got a hold of a place 2hrs away and they can't get me in till January 11th. My 6th visit is December and my surgery was suppose to be in January. They put me on the cancellation list to call me if there's an opening but that'll be highly unlikely due to it being 2hrs away when I work and need to give 48hr notice for time off. Will this file up everything?? I'm in panic mode ????????????????

Next month is #6, so it's my surgical clearance visit then I get a date if all goes well! ???? let's all keep our fingers and toes crossed ????

I was actually at an appt today when I checked this. I haven't had internet at home. They fixed it last night and I set up my psych eval for Dec 11th. My insurance doesn't cover it so it'll be $100 but that's not a big deal. Today was visit #5 so next month is my surgical clearance appt! ???????????????? btw I must say my doctor was quite happy I only gained a half of a pound since we just had thanksgiving ????

I'll be going for my sleep study on Friday and wondering if there's anything specific I should bring? I don't do good sleeping away from home. Did any of you bring a fan? Silly question, but I literally need the nose to sleep.

I had to do all my appt scheduling except the sleep study. I'll have to do some research online. Thank you for the heads up! I see my Dr next week so I'm gonna tell him about all this and see what I can do. In the mean time, I'm researching it now.

I thought of taking benadryl but I'd want an accurate reading because I can't sleep well if my life depended on it so I want them to know that and find out why.

I figure that's how it's gonna go with me. I hate sleeping alone in odd places.
