Hi Everyone..

I was just banded this past monday, 6/25. I'm trying to get an idea of the initial couple of weeks, what to expect, etc. I seem to be having a hard time of it. I wasnt aware that my port incision would hurt so darn much and limit basic functioning such as getting out of bed. I didnt know I'd obsess over not being able to eat like I am. I'm bloated like a pregnant woman, and frequently feel like i need to burp, without success. And the worst thing is, sometimes I just sit here and cry and wonder what the heck did I do to myself???? I'm scared to death to have a fill because I'm so darn uncomfortable already. Has anyone else had these feelings, especially the emotional ones? Thanks in advance for any advise....

Peggy

WELL IT'S BEEN QUITE A WHILE SINCE YOU HAVE HAD YOUR BAND HOW ARE YOU DOING NOW? I BET YOU HAVE LOST SOME WEIGHT NOW. I COULD EAT ANYTHING I WANTED BUT I DIDN'T. I HAD MY BAND DONE ON JULY 30TH AND I HAVE ONLY LOST ABOUT 30 POUNDS AND SHE SAID I HAD LOST 8 WHAT EVER OF FAT. I NOTICED WHEN I LOSE FAT THE scale ONLY MOVES WHEN I LOSE WEIGHT NOT FAT NOW HOW DOES THAT WORK? LET ME KNOW HOW YOU ARE DOING. SHARON

I would like to know how you are doing too. I had my surgery the day after you and right after surgery I lost 15 lbs and I am like at maintainance I went from 214 to 200 and I have gone up to 205 and back down to 203 and up to 205 again. I had 4 fills, I have a 10cc band and I am filled 8cc and I am just not loosing. I thought by now I would have lost at least 20lbs.

I hope you are doing better than me.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
