Help! Losing so slowly...

Recommended Posts

You don't mention what your starting weight is nor your goal weight. 3 lbs per week is actually very good! In a year you would lose 156 lbs! Keep up the good work!

Try not to compare to others...some folks here in here were on the high side of over weight and need to lose 200-300 lbs so their weight loss is much more dramatic.

I'm envious of you, my weight loss is too fast, but it has its drawbacks, I started at 388 in January and was 362.2 at my first appt, on surgery day June 10th I was at 344, and today probably at 320, but I used to get in atleast 1500-2300 calories per day, I now at under 100carbs, 400-500 cal, and 65-89 Protein per day, I also work out hardcore 3 times a week at the gym, so I can't do more than 3 because of muscle repair time, I'm also not sedentary like i used to be, but the problem is that posing weight that fast usually means you can gain it back a lot faster than some one who losses at your rate, I would be content at 2-3 lbs per week, sometimes it's more like 3-5, keep going and do what your doing, you are doing everything right, good luck

What's your starting BMI? The more you have to lose, the more you lose at first. Usually when I see starting BMI'S at 40 or below, you lose about the rate you're losing. And even if your BMI is higher, 25 pounds is great for 7 weeks. It's more than I lost in 7 weeks!

Any loss is great! This isn't a race. You're not going to lose all your weight overnight. It takes time, patience and persistence. You'll get there!

Your weight loss sounds right on track. I was losing, on average, 13lbs a month for the 1st year.

Keep up the good work.

When I felt my weight loss was too slow, I reminded myself of how fast I was NOT losing weight pre-surgery. :-)

Post op 7 weeks....I've only lost 25 lbs since surgery. I do 60-80 Protein and under 25 net carbs. What am I not doing right?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
