Its no secret how happy i am 6 months post op, just by the way i feel and move, and just live...Yes i still have a stretch ahead of me till all the weight is off, and then plastic surgery..But i wanna share something that happened at work today.

I work in a corporate environment and there are many people from all walks of life on the floor i work on, One in particular is a very attractive blonde lady who is a yoga instructor in her free time...Needless to say, we as men (Yes ladies, we are primitive animals) here at the office tend to sneak a peak every time she walks around. So i was walking out of the building and she was in front of me, and all of the sudden stops dead in her tracks, turns around and says to me "I just want you to know, you look amazing...All the girls in the office have been talking and we are really curious"...So being the more confident man i am now, i told her if she wants to join me for lunch (Which was where i was heading) I will tell her all about it..Which she did and i told her my whole story.

So to anyone pre or post op who are in two minds, or are struggling...Its small things like these...Be strong, be focused and be positive ;)

Your PAL name is offensive and not worthy of this site. Please change it.

What a positive post! I agree that your BP name is distasteful, but I am 63 years old so.......... half the time I can't figure out what the names mean anyway. I do enjoy your joyful attitude!

It's the double-entendre that is distasteful.

I think your story was wonderful, and names are just that...names. While I don't particularly care for the "nastier" def. of the name, the true definition is totally respectful.

So I gotta ask....is there another lunch scheduled???? How did she respond when you told her your situation? It sounded like she asked in a very appropriate manner, and is a caring person. And good for you for be bold, both in asking her out and in sharing. Well done!

wow, yeah this thread went left...lol

I actually had to say it a couple of times to make sure it was what I thought it was. It is funny to me but anyhow your story was exciting and I'm happy you were confident enough to approach her. I too would like to know if it ended with a 2nd date????

First and foremost, I liked your story. It's wonderful that your weight loss has brought you self esteem and courage.

Do you know that you can put a space in your name? Are you into linguistics? I guess a sly linguist would put the two words together. Sort of a play on words, I guess? I wouldn't use that name on a dating web site or anywhere, for that matter. That name just gives a bad first impression. You don't need to use a name like that to grab our attention on this site. Your post was interesting enough.

I thought it was a great story too - so wonderful to experience all these confidence building moments!

This is the first thread of yours that I opened - to being put off by your user name. Yes, i understand the meaning of the word "linguist" but nonetheless, the way the screen name reads certainly implies the double entrende that Dr Meow and John mentions and I don't think fits with the "spirit" of this forum - but to each his / her own.

Seriously? People are offended by "cunninglinguist"?

I might change my nick to "blowjobssuck."

Lighten up, folks! That's actually why we're here. (Badda boom ... get it?)

@@Cunninglinguist

Thank you for sharing your story and passing on a positive message.

I did not even notice your name until it was pointed out.

I also do not get offended so easily, to each his own.

Now if you were cursing like a sailor that might bother me, but that is not he case. LOL!

I also would like to know if this led to a whole new relationship.

Great story!! I'll say I would have been leery of opening up after she said the'girls and I were curious'.

Guess I'm a prude cause I have no clue what the 'dirty' version of the name means or implies...

@@Cunninglinguist Thank you for your positive message. Don't pay any attention to these idiots who don't know what your screen name means. Come on we are all adults and if you can't understand what it means then maybe you shouldn't comment.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
