Where are all the august people

Recommended Posts

My surgery is in 2 days and I am getting cold feet. This is my first post, wondering if anyone that had surgery in August still posts here to tell me they had cold feet too. I saw an awful story on YouTube about a bad sleeve result and a very sick woman. Scared me enough to reconsider. Now I am just scared long term, like 3 or 8 or eve 15 years down the road. Anyone else feel this way?

I am scared too. I'm scheduled for 8/31, and last night as I fell asleep I was thinking of all the reasons I shouldn't do this.. But then I think of the reasons I should, they heavily outweigh the alternative.

There are always going to be stories of people who's surgery went wrong. I honestly believe the risks of doing the surgery are much lower than the risks of me staying morbidly obese.

I had cold feet the morning of my surgery once it really became real for me. I'm almost 2 weeks out and it was a great decision to go through with it. Everyone is different and we'll all react differently to the procedure but the simple opportunity to really change my life and not be as big as I was were completely worth the risks to me.

Thank you both for your input, I agree with the risks outweighing (no pun intended hehe) the alternative of my weight for a lifetime. I love that you, sshelssea, are two weeks out and are happy you did it. Thank you for that. It seems I don't find many, if any regrets of sleevers and my nerves are getting the best of me. I have prayed about it and feel a little excited now along with nervous. I just have to make it through tomorrow morning.

Got sleeved on the 31st. Had an easy surgery and so far a quick recovery but now that Im home Im starting to get my cravings back. I cant tell when Im full, hungry or just craving most of the time. Im sticking to just Protein and Water for now but Im worried Im going to start eating bad food again. I thought I wasn't going to have an appetite but it seems to still be there.

I got my sleeve on Aug. 18th and have not had any problems. Last week I was at a stall on 20 lbs lost all week, but started dropping Saturday and am at 23 now. I see my dr for my 4 week check this Thursday. I also see the nutritionist, psychiatrist, and exercise specialist at their Weight Loss Center on Thursday. I am anxious to see what they all have t say!

Hi all! I am new to the group and excited to go through this journey. I had my surgery on Aug 27 and go for my 4-week follow up in two days. My Pre-op I was at 268, day of surgery I was 262 and today I am 239.8. Last week was a struggle as I had severe nausea and couldn't get a whole lot in, including Protein. This past weekend I became more tolerable of things and this week is starting off great! Last week, I stalled, probably the notorious 3-week stall and the lack of calories. However, things seem to be moving right along now. :)

I had Surgery on August 27 and at my 2nd stall ???? I have lost a total of 47 lbs (including pre op diet) for an after surgery loss of 28lbs. I started at 348, day of surgery 330, and now back and forth between 301-303. I wanna scream, sometimes out of joy sometimes out of disappointment. I feel like I'm losing kinda slow with plenty of stalls. Nut says maybe not enough calories so I upped calories yesterday with SF puddings mixed with my Protein Powder and had a Quest bar for the first time. Feeling a little defeated today! Better days are sure to come ???? fingers crossed!!!

Linda818, I was sleeved on the same day. I do not have the nausea, but often feel as if I have swallowed a boulder after eating if it is nt somethng soft. I have tried steak and roast beef and they were the worst.

I.too, have lost 30 lbs!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
