I'm trying. I really want to be normal again. Whatever that is. I still can't lay down in the bed and sleep in a recliner.... Hope to be back in bed soon. I'm getting my walks in. Are you all still weak at this point?

It's the hernia.....is my guess.

I've not had weight loss surgery yet but have had a couple hernia repairs.

The pain from their hernia repairs sucks bad. Really bad.

You'll feel better and do great with the WLS as your hernia fix heals.

Avoid doing anything that makes you cough.

Best wishes.

Hernia repair. I had one years ago with the mesh. Well in the last couple of years I've had terrible stomach pains. The mesh had torn free and rolled up snd embedded into fat and stomach. Intestines protruding. So they had to remove mesh snd reconstruct belly button with a leather type matetial with titanium screws each one with it's own holes. And the bypass at the same time. Lots of trauma.

I'm 7 weeks out and I had a hernia repair with mine also, not nearly as extensive as yours! The regret and "what have I done to myself" stage is totally normal also. I does get better, hang in there. Don't worry so much about food and Protein right now as staying hydrated. Dehydration is the number one reason you will land yourself back in the hospital.

Hey Shelly, hang in there! It does get better! Are you being able to hold anything down or is it just tasting horrible? I had my surgery on the 6/29. The doc has said its common to not get all your Proteins in the first few months. In time it will build. I haven't had an appetite since my surgery. Can't tell when I'm hungry or even when I'm full. I feel like I never had the surgery. Almost wish I could see what was done to my insides. I'm so used to diets failing, I seem to be waiting for this to fail too. Frustrating. I'm lucky so far everything I have eaten I have tolerated fine. Find something that works and little by little try something different.

Oh that nasty taste! I hated that. I lived on sugar free tic tacs and sugar free gum. That nasty taste doesn't last too long. For me anyways. I went through a short period where I wanted some things I use to have I would take a bite of a cupcake for instance, get the taste and spit it out. It's terrible but it helped me get over the loss. And that too didn't last long. For me keeping busy is key. And,when I use to eat watching TV now instead of eating I do sit ups, jumping jacks, weights etc. Just some crazy things that help me.

I still have the nasty taste but is not all the time now. Tried some shredded chicken last night and it was good. Almost felt human again. Still sleeping in a recliner. Not recovered from the pain yet. I'm just a mess right now. Emotions all over the place.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
