So glad to see all of you on here. Let's keep this thread going! It's nice to see how everyone is doing!

I have just been suffering for the last 2 days with that dreaded stomach flu. Bright side of it is I've lost 3 lbs in one day! lol. All Fluid I know!

Anyhow I started out At 294 and today I am 203 so I've has a fairly quick drop as I've been so freaking strict with my plan. hair loss has finally stopped and growing back now. Lots of loose skin, but hoping with lots of exercise and Water that should help.

Over all, my experience has been wonderful and I would do it again in a heart beat. I am off all my blood pressure and diabetes meds so I've accomplished my main goal!

Congrats everyone and keep up the good work!!!

I have gotten past my stall. Sw237 cw 187.... not enough Fluid was the main culprit and the meds for the swelling and erosion slow down my digestive tract but back on track ,which makes me feel soo much better.

Sleeved June 10th. Sw 254 cw 177.2. Still learning how to "drive" this new life, but am thankful for it every day. I will be happy when the holidays are all behind and life and eating (and temptations and cravings) are behind for a little while. I told my hubby I want size 10 jeans for Valentine's Day.

Just wanted to see/hear how everyone is doing, it's been a couple of months since there's been any activity on here.

I finally passed the 100# mark -- a big milestone for me psychologically. The next is getting below 200#. Only 0.5 to go! Haven't been at this weight for over 20 years. Working out has been my new favorite thing to do to take care of myself. (I never thought those words would come out of my mouth!)

I still struggle with fluids, seems like every day, make me feel too full, too fast. hair loss has slowed wayyy down. Stalls not effecting me as much -- I know the weight loss will continue as long as I keep doing what I know is best for me.

Would love to hear where everyone else is on their journey.

I it 165lb loss, but I now only weigh in once a month. I was obsessing weighing more. Fluids are still a struggle for me, which leaves me with leg cramps at night. I was a size 30, now a 10.

Love my new life and how I feel. I can play on the ground with my baby boy!

My weight loss has slowed down considerably and haven't really lost much in the last 2 months. Starting weight was 295 cw 204. hair is growing back. I was struggling with Water and protien as well but getting lots in now. Feeling really tired lately so I might call my nutritionist about that. Over all, other than the extra skin I have, I'm still very happy with my decision and my results. Still have 24 lbs to go to get to goal.

I was a low BMI (33) when I started this journey, but I had a lot of comorbidities. I've gone from 200 pounds to 140, where I've seemed to be hovering now for a month. The great news is that my high blood pressure, high cholesterol and sleep apnea are gone! I can definitely eat more now than I could the first six months and I am starting to struggle with food choices. Those damn carbs are still as addictive as before and they certainly don't fill me up like Protein does. The honeymoon is definitely over. But exercise is easy when your knees and lungs don't hurt, so I need to concentrate on burning calories in order to maintain. Drinking Water is also a lot easier these days too!

I'm down 70# and only have 5# to go until I reach goal. I'm working out like crazy but old habits are creeping up that I have to really be mindful of. Water is still a chore, but I'm getting there

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
