@@Annek2014,

I totally feel your pain. I just had a 3 level cervical spine surgery last week and I am so afraid it is going to set me back. Fortunately I have not been able to eat a lot because they went through my throat. The bad news is because I am not getting enough calories and Protein and I am restricted on exercise, I am stalled and even gained 2 lbs.

It makes no sense, the only thing I have been able to eat is cottage cheese, pudding and some clear broth type Soups.

Anyway, I know that my Protein is really short so I am going to try drinking 3 Protein shakes for the next couple of days and see if that will help get things moving again. Water as well, I have had such a hard time swallowing anything including Water. I am going to really work hard at those two things and see if it helps.

Oh, and of course all these stinking pain killers have caused me to be constipated which I am sure is also part of my problem. I tried backing off some of the pain killers and then spent most of the day in tears yesterday because the pain was so bad and clearly it was too soon to be backing off. I am in a hard color neck brace for 12 weeks minimum which makes any kind of exercise besides slow walking next to impossible plus I a, restricted anyway.

I am usually a positive person but this can bring you down in a hurry. I just cannot let it do that so today I am going to try to work through this differently and see if it helps.

The only advice I can give you is don't miss your protein and water, it causes more problems than you need.

Keep me posted on your surgery and I will try to do the same with you.

Good luck and I hope you have a speedy recovery!

I'm also worried about pain control. I know with the RNY I will have to remind them of it.

Update!

I had the surgery on the 17th. I will be two weeks out tomorrow. Pain has been an issue. I thought I was strong, but turns out I am a wuss. LOL My other issue, I am just not hungry. :-( food does not agree with me. I can tolerate, yogurt, baby bel cheese, cheese sticks, fat free sugar free pudding, fruit and some veggies. I have no appetite to eat.

I get my staples out on Thursday.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
