Any teachers in here?!?

I was hoping to get the sleeve done during the summer, however, I couldn't count my pcp's documentation because I needed 6 consecutive months.... So now it's looking like October.

This is an issue as I'll probably have to wait until November or December until I have a decent break to help with recovery....

Any teachers with any advice, tips, etc?

Best wishes Julia, Brian, and all the other teachers out there. Are you two Awake yet?! Anxious to hear your thoughts? I'm having mine tomorrow morning and excited!

I've been awake and alert since about 6pm. I took a nap and just went on my first walk. A little cramping in my intestines but otherwise I feel good

All went well for me. Getting ready to go on my 3rd walk. Only could have ice chips today.

Great news, Julia and Myjourney again! Less than 8 hours to go for me. Won't deny I'm a litLe nervous, but y'all made me feel better. I'll be checking in tomorrow evening.

Myjourneyagain, how amazingly helpful is the walking? I just got back from my second. ????

Freelee,

You will do so awesome! The anticipation while in preop was by far the worst part of this journey.

@@julias1119 the walking is definitely a tremendous help!

Freelee, how are you doing? Thinking about you.

Sorry about not messaging back right away. I'm doing just fine hopefully going home today. I hope everyone else is doing ok as well. Thank you very much for asking. Brian

I am a middle school teacher. My Dr wanted to schedule for Christmas, but wanted me to take an additional week. I am saving my time for my adoption maternity leave that is also currently in process. I chose to wait until summer. I was sleeved June 8th. I an so glad I have time to get used to my new life! I an just worried about getting enough water and teach. I was joking that I might need a camel pack or use a beer hat (replace with water of course) :-)

I'm yet holding on. I was very weak today although I was constantly walking. I'm going to stay one more night to be on safe side. Trying to get my liquids in but it's very hard. I'm at about 40oz for the whole day.

I am scheduled for June 30. I am very excited. I was hoping for last Christmas but had to wait. i also had to the 6 months nutrition appointments. In a way I am glad. It really did help me get a better understanding of what I will be going through. I have been able to do a lot of reserch. I feel as though I am better prepared. I know that there are things that will come up that I could not prepare myself for, but a least I tried.

Doing great everyone. Had bronchitis coming in so messes with the pain when I cough, but otHew is going well. Going home this afternoon if the pulmomologist releases me ( which I think he will) . Excited to go home with no tube and no staples! I'm ready to do this!
