Dr. Ariel Ortiz at the OCC

I've read mostly positive posts about Dr. Ortiz and OCC on this and other forums. A few people don't seem to like his "celebrity" status and I did find some older complaints about their bands. Anyone out there with bad experiences or complications with their sleeves from him?

That's funny you mention that because when I go for the EGD I was thinking I might just drive myself there and let the Marriott take me to and from the OCC, however they drive so crazy in Mexico. The marriott is super close to the border though, it's almost easier to drive there than do the whole border crossing thing. I was thinking about scheduling mine around my friends lap band fill and follow her in. She and her boyfriend drive back and forth all the time for lap band fills and to visit. Then I was thinking I could follow an OCC van back the other way :)

I have had surgery at OCC 5 times 3 of them I was alone everything went fine. The would even pick you up at the border I did that one time for me.

The vitamin never upset my stomach at all and never felt sick with the shakes. The only real nausea I had was postop at the OCC and EVERYTHING was making me nauseous a few days prior to purées but that was scent just as much if not more than taste. What vitamin do you take? Iron may be the culprit. {)i(} Sent from my iPhone using VST {)i(}

I have to be honest- I haven't been as consistent taking my vitamins for the past year or so. This past year I really gave up as far as weight loss and trying to be healthy because I really felt like I was out of options and why bother when nothing was working anyway?… until I started researching the sleeve in February 2013. I truly believe that getting the sleeve will help me immensely. I also think that I need to start taking vitamins again just to get used to taking them since my surgery is in February 2014. I've stopped little things such as drinking soda and alcohol so my next step to prepare myself I decided I would drink a shake for breakfast every morning and start taking my vitamins… I have to purchase both of those and start that this week. Sorry that was the long way around to your question of what vitamin I am taking LOL. And the answer would be… None.

Ok good people! I am flying to OCC in 8 hours!!!

GO KARLIY GO!!

I had a friend with me before/during surgery, but traveled home by myself. It was no big deal. If you are alone, you will be fine! I never felt concerned about my safety.

Just about to cross the border! Do I tip the driver every time???

I did tip each time but there was many who did not. There where times we was in a full van and no one else tipped. I started thinking maybe we wasn't suppose to. But I did anyways also tipped the bell boys. Taxi drivers. It is just up to you if you want to tip.

Thanks Angie! I will have to do that! Pre ops done and settled at Marriott! Met Dr Ortiz! He's so awesome!!! And funny :) and handsome! ;) ready for tomorrow.
