I am scheduled for June 15. I'm excited but nervous. I have told no one. My family is not supportive of the surgery. I have been planning on this for a few years, now.

I'm happy you've found a place with lots of support here! My family doesn't know. Well most of my family doesn't know. But I figured, it's about being healthy and feeling great about myself. As much as we love our family, we can't love them if we are dead or super sick. They will come around!

Anybody not doing a pre up diet? I barely qualify and my surgeon does. Not feel my liver size will be an issue. I am 5ft 5in and 243lbs

Oh and my date is June 9th!transformationtuesday

I'm not required to do a pre-op but I will at least do a 3 day liquid diet prior to my surgery on the 16th.

I'm 5ft. And 203 lbs.

I'm not required to do a pre-op either but I was thinking of doing a whole 30 a week before so that I could detox from sugar and the liquid detox wouldn't be as bad.

I guess from all I've read on these forums is that it really depends on your surgeon and what diet they like to follow, I am June 10th, and pretty much 2 Protein Shakes my choice of Breakfast, lunch or dinner, and one high Protein low carb meal for 14 days prior, then liquids including protein for about two weeks post, then two weeks soft, then last two reintegrating regular foods, I think from everything I have learned is the most important things to remember is, lots protein (also read elsewhere that high protein leads to faster recovery time) and go lean, hydrate hydrate hydrate, always keeps me thinking "Adkin's diet when I see all the recipes and foods I'm allowed ????

I haven't told anyone about my decision except my very supportive husband. I decided in Dec. To move forward with this and I didn't want to have to explain-justify my decision to my brother, mom, best friends, coworkers or family. Lots of servers never tell anyone! This is for me, not them and I'm sticking by that a week away from sleeve date! Everyone is different...only your heart can answer this for you! ????

My date is Monday, June 15 which is two weeks from today. I started my Protein Shake diet today and go for my last pre op appointment today. I'm anxious for this and very excited for this to really happen. I know this will be long journey, but I have a lot of support in my personal life, my professional life and from the community here on this message board. :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
