From June 06 to June 07 I lost 118 lbs

Recommended Posts

I am thinking this month (6/07), I was 118 lbs heavier a year ago. That is a whole skinny person!!

I was carrying around a skinny person.

No wonder I was sweating all the time.

I am so glad I got rid of her.

Her extra weight was a big load on my mind too. I did not realize how much she weighed just between my ears.

Just tooting my own horn. I just want to share , its just not about how you look and having more energy but feeling better on the inside too.

Fantastic, Edie!! What an inspiration!!

You've probably done this before on other threads, but would you please share a typical day's menu or list of foods/amounts you eat regularly + your exercise plan + any other tips you may have for those of us just beginning our band journey?? I *really* want to be able to write a post like this next year!!

Thank you!! :(

Hi, I am new to this forum and have enjoyed all of the information found here. I was really happy to read your post this morning. It seems that as I find different forums, I only run into all the folks that are disappointed with the lap band surgery. It also seems that these folks haven't lost much weight.

I read a post yesterday from a woman who wrote she has lost 2 lbs. in the last several months.

Here's the worst part, a very good friend of mine told my husband that if she knew then what she knows now she would not have had the surgery. Seems as though she had a "tough" time with a piece of chicken last week.

My banding is scheduled for June 29, 2007 and I am getting scared. I am also getting crap from my husband who is now telling me I'm not THAT FAT! To be very honest, he has NEVER made comments about my weight. He didn't have to, I did enough for both of us. Anyway, he told me this morning that he didn't want me to have the surgery. He's afraid something will go wrong and I will be unhappy. Well hey! I'm unhappy now! Gosh, I 'm long winded today.

But Edie, I have a queston for you. Was your road to success filled with lots of problems or just once in a while problems because maybe you were complient with the food restrictions?

It's OK to lie to me! I really need to hear something positive, but it's OK to tell me the truth too! I'm tough, I can take it. Just a little shaky today.

Thanks For Your Time.

Waters

Waters,

You will BE JUST FINE!!! A lot of people try to eat around the band and want to take no responsibilty for their actions!! Comply with what your doctor tells you, EXERCISE, starting with the first walking after surgery to get rid of the gas and NEVER stop exercising and you will do great!! Eat slowly, chew, chew, chew, stop drinking carbonation. Good luck!! Deanna

That's a fantastic effort Edie!

Between July 06 and June 07, I lost wait for it, drum roll please....................... 17 whole pounds, lol!!!!

Hehehe, I got most of my weight off in the first 8 months and its been extremely slow since then. At least I got to a normal weight though, I guess. I'd love to have just a few weeks of 4 or 5lb a week again though.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
