Insurance Timeline to Approval

Here's something I've always been curious about and no one has every really addressed it or commented on it so I'm trying to get a list together for us newbies to kind of get an estimated idea of the wait. So the question is, what is your insurance and how long did it take between your dr submitting your paperwork and getting approval/denial?

United health care 2 weeks

I was told that Aetna has the right to take 30 days. I sure hope not as that will really mess up my plans to do this before starting the new school year.

I was approved thru Aetna and it was less than two weeks To hear back.

I have Aetna and when I asked how long they had to make a decision I was told 15 business days. My paperwork was submitted on 4-30 (aetna says they got it on the 5-4) and I was approved on 5-8 but didn't know.

I have Anthem BCBS from the State of CT. Everything was submitted to insurance on a Friday, and I was approved the following Tuesday.

I just got the insurance paperwork now, they apparently approved me the same day the dr sent in the paperwork which was last week Tuesday. I have United HealthCare/Oxford.

i also have United Healthcare thru Oxford & got approved the same day.

This is my concern too and im really nervous cuz im scared that my insurance will deny me...i have bcbs of florida and it says one of the requirements was a 5yrs weight history and i havent seen my pcp for the past 4 yrs...but i ket gaining and gaining weight and 2 months ago i just woke up and said im tired of my weight and i need to do something and so i went to the process and was done with all d requirement...but im worried that it will deny me for no weight history...i also changed pcp and i was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and sleep apnea and my bmi on my first consultation day was 41 something....the waiting is torture and im really scared that my insurance will not approve it...ughh pls advise?..,,anyone?????

Your new PCP should be able to get your records from your old PCP. So you will have some history. You should check your insurance website, they change requirements all the time, you might not have to meet that requirement anymore.
