Just sleeved April 29th - Oh the nausea!

Recommended Posts

Happy to report I was just sleeved. Five small incisions and not too much pain. Soreness mainly. The nausea has been terrible though. Unrelenting even with the Zofran. I hope tomorrow is better. At least I'll be going home.

What I have determined about the liquid diet.

1. Air in the stomach is a no no. So if you blend a shake let it settle before you start drinking it. Ice is full of air. If you chew ice you will probably hear your stomach gurgling.

2. If I took too big a gulp I would feel a pain in the center of my chest. Sip, Sip, Sip. I think a spritz bottle would even be better.

3. Dark chocolate shakes were just too chocolaty. I took an 11 ounce shake and added a scoop of the vanilla Protein powder and a little milk and it was great.

4. I alternated shake, Water, and milk.

5. Tylenol made me sick

6. costco sell Eco Vitamins. Mixes with Water and is easy to take. Gives all your multiple Vitamin needs, and your Fluid intake at the same time.

7. Get a timer that beeps at you every 15 minutes and don't go over the 1 oz of Fluid.< /p>

I have not been sleeved yet, so I can't relate, but I hope you feel better soon.

I just had my two year anniversary. I was horribly nauseous for about three months. I was taking oral zofran and had a scopalomine patch behind my ear. A lot of my nausea was learning how to eat the beginning is such a learning curve and figuring out when to stop is key especially when you don't have a lot of feeling in your pouch in the beginning to be able to tell you're getting full until its too late so a lot of times you just need to stop eating just because!

Walk, walk, walk to combat that nausea! I was sleeved a month ago, it gets better! When I was in the hospital I had to MAKE myself walk. It helped. I also met two other sleevers that were operated on the same day as I was walking around

. We have enjoyed sharing our weight loss journey!

So, just a brief update since I know there were many getting sleeved this week. I was sleeved Wed April 29th and was released from hospital yesterday May first (2 night stay). I'm actually happy I stayed the 2 nights because the day after surgery sucked. I thought I had made a big mistake with this. Happy to report that I haven't had nausea all day. No horrible headaches either. I had to cut the pain meds completely to get rid of headache. Now I'm just really sore and tired. For all sleeved this week - hang in there.

Nausea only on day two after surgery. Dairy products were out for me until week six so I couldn't mix milk with the Protein Powder. One string cheese stick per day was allowed at week three. I start my forth week out tomorrow and the program is running smoothly. I still have one spot of pain between two of the incisions but I think that's where muscle was cut.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
