@@erose321 Sounds like you are doing well! My surgery was April 7th. I'm doing well but still quite fatigued. Take your time with EVERYTHING. You will figure out what works and is best for you. :-)

I survived the surgery! I am home now, but feel like crap. I have heard that it will pass, and I will feel really good in a few days. I'll be happy to see that day when I don;t feel like crap..Not sure how peeps actually go back to work in a week.

@@wannaBthinsoon One day at a time. I will be 3 weeks out Tuesday and I am still exhausted, not very thirsty for much of anything, but still sip on something the majority of the day. I am happy you are home. I have been thinking about you and how everything went. :-)

Girrrlllllll the gas JUST started moving up and man, I keep checking my O2 and doing my spirometer bc it truly feels like there is an elephant on my chest. I don't get it either because just walking around the house is exhausting.

I woke up super early this morning,(I fell asleep at 7:30pm last night) I got up at around midnight and took some liquid hydracodone, and right now I am not in pain. YAY!! I took off the nausea patch they put behind my ear.....I kept touching. They stress..."DON'T TOUCH IT!!" but I did, so I removed it, Still trying to figure out how to take an omeprazole capsule. I broke one open last night, and that was nasty.

No nausea meds for me but thankfully I've not had to deal with that too much. I was up at 2 and 6 for pain meds but at 6 I passed SO MUCH gas, I'm feeling a bunch better too. Yay us!!!

Wow thanks! I've had wicked nausea for the past week from my stupid lyme antibiotics. Gonna try the alcohol pads.

I stayed home 2 weeks and went pack part time on week three. You will feel better and less tired but it does take a bit. Congrats on arriving at the other side.

Let's talk about our Vitamins. I went with the nascobol (sp?) they are billed through my insurance, $25 bucks a month no fuss, but the calc and multi are making me sick. Like I took them for the first time today and today was the first time I threw up. They aren't hard to take, they don't taste bad and I don't throw up when I take my crushed regular meds. Any ideas or recommendations. Also I've moved past the post op Constipation phase into the never trust a fart phase. Day 2 = rough.

I am now at 4 day postop too. I am still very nauseous and sore! I'm struggling badly getting liquids down. Every sip just makes my tummy gurgle and dry heave. I'm on Tylenol3, Phenergan, Carafate, and my reg other meds.

Looking forward to some relief soon.

@@FlabbyNat I am so sorry you are not feeling great. I have been lucky I guess. No nausea, getting my fluids in fine. I have taken the liquid hydrocodone for pain, it helps me sleep (I am not a back sleeper...but I have to be for now). I haven't slimed or dry heaved, or anything. My tummy does talk to me all the time, though. That's something I have heard we will be dealing with forever. I hate it that we all can't come out of this and instantly feel great. But I feel pretty great. I do have to nap throughout the day. I have been doing 20 minutes on the treadmill, and that wears me out a little. Hang in there....it won't be long before you will be ready to get up and go.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
