1500 cal diet pre surgery

Recommended Posts

This diet is killing me. I feel hungry all the time. I know it's probably just my mind wanting things just because I know I can't. Words of encouragement please!!!

1500 is a lot, what are you eating that you aren't full?

I haven't started it yet but I know is going to be hard but the thing I have to tell my self is I am going to be happy again. I don't know if that helps but maybe go for a walk or something to hello not think about it. I am telling you stuff and I have been through it yet but I might be needing you soon.hasn't in there.

It's not a lot in comparison to what I'm used to eating. I have eaten a lot of Greek yogurt. Grilled chicken. Veggies. Trying to get Protein and eat mostly healthy. Like I said I don't know if it's a mind game I'm playing with myself just knowing I can't have what I want and making me feel hungry.

It is a mind game, because you have limits on what you can and cant have! Be thankful you aren't on one of the harsher stricter pre-op diets. Mine was 3 Protein drinks and liquids. I averaged 500-600 calories a day. Enjoy making the best healthy meals that you can on what you allowed, and know that these next 4 days will soon be over!

Sounds like a mind game. Just relax. You can totally do this.

I'm on my two week pre-surgery diet. And I can only eat 800cal (my dr. Provided the food) and 64oz of Water a day....it sucks and is really difficult especially when your cooking "normal" food for your family. I have been struggling with headaches and I assume it's because of the no sugar.

I'm also supposed to be on a 1500 calorie diet but I haven't started yet. I need to go on a major grocery shopping trip tomorrow. My NUT told me to do 350 calories for Breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and then two 200 calorie Snacks. At least one meal is to be replaced by a Protein Shake and fruit. My surgery isn't until at least mid-June, so I'm in it for the long haul.

Give it a few days to get used to it. I went from 2200 to 1800, then to 1500. When I went from 1800 to 1500, I found that it took a few days to NOT be starving. I tried to fill up on fruit, like apples and maybe cheese. It helped if I added a Protein Shake into the mix. I was told to hit 90-100 gm of Protein, and if I did that, I was OK. Good luck!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
