I thought some of you might be curious to see what it might look like after surgery.. I know that not all surgeons do the operation the same, however, I think this will give you and idea.

Thanks for letting us see what it looks like. Did you have a lot of pain? How is everything going?

oh by the way... I know everyone is jealous because I look so sexy!!!

Ummm not really much pain at all. I took gas-x for the first few days and made sure that I walked around a lot. I also took a lot of slow, deep breaths to expand things in there. Surprisingly, the most pain has come from my port area. I suspect this might be something that they will improve in years to come because that seems to cause a lot of people problems. It is still quite swollen in that area... and if I get out of breath at all.. it is uncomfortable around that area. Otherwise I am doing great. I was 12 pounds down at one week and can totally tell a difference.

My sites are about th esame but my surgeon used the "glue" instead of staples, my port area is alsothe sorest spot and I get alot of epigastric pain, when I got home I was actually 5 pounds heavier, after the gas and Fluid passed I have rid myself of the 5 plus 3 more, i cant wait til i feel a little better and can move around and exercise. Hey, that's MY belly!

9 months later, my incision lines are just little pale lines.

And there's a whole lot less belly than before!

Thanks for posting pics. I am very bruised and I wasn't sure if I should look like that. I only saw one pic that kind of looks like me. I look like a bat was taken to my stomach. It is slowly going away. I am one of those people who can just look at something and get bruised.

Banded on the 5th and my bruises are fading, I feel human, lots of glue still stuck to my belly from the steri strips and bandages what takes that off. 10.5 lbs less of me and oh all people my father said to me today you look good I can already tell your losing weight. (he was the sceptic about all this) Good luck to all!

My little incisions are invisible at 18 months post op but the big one is still there. Its getting paler and paler but I suspect it will take a few more years. I cant even see my caesar scar at 4 years so I'm hoping!

You didn't have any bruising. I was extremely bruised. Some areas were as big as the palm of my hand, purple...was weeks before the bruising went away.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
