My surgeon cleared me for cardio after two weeks, but no heavy lifting until a month.

Even then, I wouldn't take a chance with my new sleeve on any fast or Jerky Six Flags rides even a month out and if my doctor cleared me or not. That doesn't seem worth any sort of risk after a major surgery.

Best of luck to you!

I'm not a doctor, but I would hold off, at least on the wild rides. Some of those rides keep you in several Gs for up to a minute, even more, and I don't know that newly healed sleeves are designed to handle that kind of physical force. My doctor didn't want me lifting anything more than 15lbs for a month. But if there are calmer rides, you could still come along.

i didnt consider that before but it makes sense. thanks for your insight! :)

Besides the rides, consider what's available to drink / eat... Skim milk, chicken broth, and SF Jello aren't exactly everywhere in an amusement park.

Depends on what your planning to do there...no crazy rides and junk food. It's good for walking. Take Snacks your allowed and enjoy friend time.

Seriously, I would opt out. Here's why. Amusment parks are huge. You'd be doing a lot of walking. What do you do if you get tired? You can't take a nap. Then there is the problem of food. At 2 weeks out, most likely your on full liquids. I don't think your going to find yogurt, or cottage cheese at the park. There will be other times, and you will be a skinny mini. Opt out this time around and rest at home where you will be comfortable.

Side note, decades ago, I had just had gall bladder surgery. My bff flew in and wanted to go to Disneyland. It was a BIG mistake. Even though we rented a wheel chair, I got very fatigued. I ate junk food, and it took me a few days to get back into a healing mode. I'm 7 weeks out, and I'm still being conservative in what I do, where I go, and what I eat. I JUST went on my first social outing where there was a reception with food. Lots of Cookies and carbonated punch. Thank God they had cheese...and I was smart enough to bring my own beverage.

Treat yourself kind and be selfish fir just a bit longer.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
