I am one of those that falls in the bucket of nothing bothers my sleeve and I am 3 months out. Blessing and curse. I love sweets and the bad carbs so I have to be careful. I also eat way to fast and sometimes the meat feels like a ton of bricks in my stomach.

I, like many others I've seen post, had trouble with the ricotta bake and with Tomato sauce in general. I tried the ricotta bake twice and tho it does taste super yummy, it gave me horrendous heartburn. I thought that maybe I was just eating too fast or not chewing enough, but then I tried something else that had tomato sauce in it & quickly realized what the culprit was. The worst heartburn I've had in my life. Felt as if I had drank battery acid! My whole chest, neck & throat were on fire. Miserable :( I'm now very apprehensive about trying it again anytime soon.

For the first 3-4 months I couldn't do artificial sweeteners or plain Water. I was also lactose intolerant. But those things passed, and I'm good to go with everything except carbonation. I will get a bit of gastritis if I drink too much alcohol or have too many sweets.

I've discovered that, along with my sleeve, I have a built in anti-fried-food switch. Anything fried makes me hurl violently.

That's not really a bad thing! I've gone from considering french fries a food group to being terrified of them. Now if I could only find some physiological mechanism to force myself to keep the laundry caught up, I'd be alright!

I hear some folks get lactose intolerant after being sleeved. For many it eventually resolves, but not for all who get it. Early on, the only thing I found was tough was rice. It seemed like it just wanted to "float". Good think I never cared much for rice! I can do rive just fine now in small quantities. Sushi is a fav. I can do 1/2 a roll. Other than that, as long as I'm smart about the quantity, nothing really disagrees anymore.

I got sleeved July 7th and I get off liquids tomorrow(yay eggs!!) So far my sleeve is total steel, but I've noticed my pallet has done a 180. I used to be able to drink 500 calories of milk a day (easy) and now.. I don't like the taste. Same with all my juices. Now, the only liquid I like is Water. What a huge blessing! Especially considering milk probably contributed to a majority of my weight gain.

My sleeve likes cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese, Protein Shakes with milk...pretty well all dairy. eggs, turkey are a definite no go, chicken is starting to be tolerable but no more than two ounces, soft and chewed extremely well before swallowing! I haven't even tried any other meats because they seem to cause me problems at this stage!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
