Why cheese?

LipstickLady,

I need to quit eating so much of it. I love cheese! Its the best! But I just eat too much of it. I need to start replacing it with something different. I have laughing cow with an egg just about every morning, then a cheese stick, then shredded cheese on my tuna or chicken, then a slice with dinner. That's about 250 calories worth of cheese most days! Kinda of high when I'm averaging 850 to 900 a day ??

@AngryViking: Buy the Mini-moos (the little individual containers that they use in restaurants). Each one is only 10 calories. I'm with you, coffee without cream is a non-starter for me. But using the individual servings keeps me from going overboard. I allow myself two mini-moos per day, most days. (Sometimes I have a third. Sssh!)

Oh..and I shall never give up cheese. As I move further into maintenance I migrate toward small quantities of STRONG cheese. I notice I do that more and more..bring on flavor, fat - but in modest quantity.

I went out tonight and amazingly only "tasted" the most delicious nachos ever made. It makes me feel like a normal human that I didn't need to wolf them.

I'm with @@CowgirlJane re the deliciousness of strong cheeses and their ability to keep me from going overboard on cheese. And yes, I could go way overboard on cheese. Everybody has their slippery slopes, and cheese is only one of mine.

Last night, for instance, I had 2.5 ounces of top sirloin with an ounce of Stilton blue cheese melted ever so slightly on top of the steak. Wow!

Ann - I think we need to have dinner together. ..that sounds heavenly whilst fitting my plan. Should it fall on a Fri or Sat night. .a glass of red would go well.

@@roundisashape -- JIF!! So many chemicals but SO GOOD! Honestly, it is the best tasting Peanut Butter out there! lol. I try to switch to real natural Peanut Butter but it just isn't the same. I also need to lay off the peanut butter. I have gotten into the habit of having peanut butter on multigrain crackers with my meals. I HAVE to stop! And I never used to be a peanut butter fanatic but now I can't stop!

@@esskay77

Have you tried the JIF natural peanut butter with honey? It's not "pure" but it's better content than regular JIF and it tastes good. Maybe that will help you wean off the regular stuff.

I was I could quit pretzels. Those are my weakness. Couldn't stand them before surgery. My favorite are the Pretzel crisps in everything flavor. Yummy!! Also chocolate is quite tasty; but I can easily eat it in moderation now.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
