Ok so I had my surgery on Jan 7 and still have not pooped!!! I have taken Miralax the last 4 days, and it am getting so nervous for when it does come ( if it ever does) I am getting 90 gr of Protein, 64oz of Water, and all my Vitamins. The surgery was a breeze but I developed a Large hematoma that is very painful so I am still taking pain meds. What do I do???? I am normally an every day kinda girl. Is this normal, anyone have any advice?

Be careful when you take milk of magnesia! I took it and it snook up on me in my sleep, and let's say I almost had to change my sheets!

I'm having crazy trouble pooping as well. Nothing really works. I cram in Protein, drink as much Water as humanly possible, take 2 senekot before bed and even lactulos.. You think I'd be a machine, nope. I really want to take bran buds in the am.. Any problem with that? I'm 2.5 months out..

Smooth Move herbal tea. It really works better than everything, and I have tried them all.

I've heard people using Fiber gummies...

Milk of magnesia. Start with half a dose. If no poop by the next day, take another half a dose. It works and it's not to harsh if you only take half.

My Dr said to take 2 fiber tabs twice a day for the rest of my life. That's what I've done and have never had an issue. I am 3 months out.

I will second the endorsement of Smooth Move herbal tea. I was concerned that nothing was moving after surgery, as I am also an everyday kind of girl. The tea did just what I needed and it hasn't been a problem since the initial post-surgical bowel hiatus.

It may ght be weird to have a chat being about going piop byt I say it's fun. E all have something in common that its easier to chat with someone who you'll never meet compates to someone who you know/see

You'll have to try different things until you find what works for you. I know want you're saying. (TMI) I thought I was going to have dig it out the first few times when I finally got to go. I now use a cap full of Miralax every day. Best of luck to you.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
